Game Four Summary: Dodgers Lose Big: Game 5 Tomorrow.

Betts doubled to right, and Freeman hit a HR into the right field stands. Hernandez singled and Muncy struck out.  Kike then popped out to first. The Yankees first, Torres hit a fly ball down the right field line, Betts trying to make the catch, was interfered with and Torres was ruled out. Soto walked and then Judge walked. Chisholm grounded out to SS. Stanton grounded out to Lux.

The Dodger second was quick. Lux doubled to right, Smith popped out to second, and Edman lined into a double play, Rizzo to Volpe. In the Yankees second, Casparius struck out Rizzo. Volpe then walked and stole second. Wells doubled off of the CF wall, Kike made a strong throw keeping Volpe from scoring. Verdugo grounded out to Freeman scoring Volpe. 2-1 LA. Torres flied out to Betts.

Dodgers went quick again in the third. Ohtani flied out to center. Betts grounded out. Freeman popped flied out to left. In the Yankees third, Hudson took over for the Dodgers. Soto struck out. Judge was hit by a pitch. Chisholm singled off of the RF wall, and Judge went to third. Chisholm stole second and Stanton walked. Rizzo popped out to Edman. Volpe hit a grand slam homer to left. 5-2 NY. Wells flied out to left.

Dodgers fourth Teo popped out to first. Muncy walked. Kike hit a groundball that Volpe fielded getting Muncy at second, and Kike was called out initially. LA challenged and the call was overturned. Lux then grounded out. In the Yankee fourth, Knack in to pitch. Verdugo singled to right. Torres hit into a double play, Lux to Edman to Freeman.                                           Dodger fifth started with a Will Smit HR to right center. 5-3 NY. Edman walked and Hill replaced Gil. Ohtani singled to center. Betts grounded into a force play. Edman to third.  Freeman hit into what looked like a double play, Dodgers challenged, and the call was overturned.  Edman scored 5-4 NY. Holmes replaces Hill. Teo flied out to left. Yankee fifth, Knack still pitching.  Judge leading off gets on with an error to Edman.  Chisholm walked. Stanton struck out. Rizzo flied out to Kike. Volpe flied out to Kike.

Dodger sixth Muncy leading off struck out. Kike struck out. Lux grounded out to second.  Wells led off the Yankee sixth and homered to right field. 6-4 NY. Verdugo flied out to left. Torres flied out to center. Soto struck out.

Dodger seventh, Leiter Jr. takes over for Holmes.  Smith leads off and he struck out.  Edman walked. Ohtani up and Edman stole second. Ohtani struck out. Weaver in to pitch for the Yankees.  Betts struck out. Yankees seventh, Knack still pitching. Judge flied out to center. Chisholm flied out to center. Stanton flied out to left.

Dodger eighth, Weaver still pitching. Freeman flied out to center. Teo struck out. Muncy struck out, his third of the game. Honeywell replaces Knack. Rizzo leading off for the Yankees grounded to Freeman, out at first, Honeywell covering. Volpe doubled to center.  Wells walked. Verdugo at bat, both runners steal. Verdugo grounds to Lux who throws home, and Volpe beats the throw, 7-4 NY. Torres homers to left, 10-4 NY. Soto doubled to right. Judge singled to left, Soto scores, 11-4 NY. Judge steals second. Chisholm flies out to left. Stanton popped out to Lux. Roberts, not wanting to burn his best bullpen pieces leaves Honeywell in to wear it.

Dodger ninth, Mayza replaces Weaver for NY. Kike leading off the ninth, grounded out to SS. Taylor PH for Lux. Taylor grounded out to second. Smith lined out to center, game over. NY wins 11-4.

                                                                                                                                     Game Summary

As in many of their losses, a big inning, in this case two big innings, cost them a loss. LA scored first on a 2-run shot by Freeman, who else?  Casparius did a decent job for 2 innings allowing only 1 run. But in the third, veteran reliever Daniel Hudson imploded. The big blow was a grand slam by Volpe. The Dodgers cut the lead to one by scoring 2 in the top of the fifth. After that, the Yankees bullpen shut them down completely. Dodgers had 2 homers, but the Yankees hit 3, including a granny and a 3-run shot by Torres. Flaherty goes against Cole tomorrow.

If anyone told me before the game that Knack and Casparius would give up only 2 runs over their combined 6 innings I would have bet the farm we win this game.

Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bumsrap

Roberts would have used his bullpen differently as well. I preferred starting Knack and see where that led.

david

Yes ‘Bad Max’ is back. Watching center cut fastballs then just looking like he knows he is going to strike out and swinging at everything.

Keith

Well that stunk I felt like we were getting the momentum back at 4-5 but it just didn’t last. This team has been good at shrugging off bad games, so I’ve still got faith in them.

oh yeah bear, it would be nice if Max could break the ice and collect a few hits or a HR

Agree, Dodgers are still pretty much in the driver seat.
But IMHO this game was a good chance to win if they used their high leverage guys. We had the lead after two and it was obvious Hudson did not have it that day. Could have brought in Banda or Brasier to put out the fire (that is where the loss of Phillipps really hurts) and then go with Knack for more bulk innings as they did.

I do fear that in todays game Cole is dealing and the Dodgers will not be in this game. Then what you do ?Burn the high leverage guys or ask CAsparius or Honey to take another one for the team and put all your eggs in Game 6 and a potential Game 7?

In the end Hudson did not execute or the Dodgers go into the 8th inning leading 4-2.

Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Micheal Norris

You use the high leverage guys and still lose, then you are in trouble in game 5. Game came down to Hudson’s bad inning and giving up that sixth run. What happened in the 8th did not really affect the outcome. Had they been 1 down, doubt Honeywell would have pitched.

dodgerram

I see that it would be trouble if you use the high leverage guys and still lose. But there is no guarantee in any other game that you use them and win.
That is the typical damned if you do, damned if you dont.
Yesterday we had a lead after 2 innings and were down only 1 after 5.

Do you use them today vs Cole when he shoves ? Or do you leave them in the pen again ? If you do you lost one chance to win a game. A clinching game to make it worse.

Tough decisions. I do not fault Doc how he managed it yesterday though it might will end up very costly.

But as I said in the end Hudson did not execute vs Volpe.

Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!

philjones31@gmail.com

The progress of the game will dictate Doc’s strategy. If Flaherty is competitive and we get a lead, than it’s the A-list relief pitchers. If we get down and give up crooked numbers, it would again be foolish to speed your bullets foolishly. You need to understand when to charge and when to cut your losses.
Need need to see how the game goes and make in game decisions.

Wally Moonshot

I know Roberts is loyal to his players but it’s time Muncy was stapled to the bench. He’s totally clueless at the plate. At this point Taylor would be an improvement — at least he can bunt.

dodgerram

Max, Shohei have to start producing.

Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bluto

Joking, right?

Wally Moonshot

You watched the game, right?

Micheal Norris

Does not matter. Max will play simply because he, Shohei and Freddie are the LH power bats on the team. Lux isn’t hitting either. You can’t bench everybody. And Max’s defense has been excellent.

Bluto

You watched the entire season right?

When was the last time a key player was benched after 4 games?

Bluto

I was at an event and had to watch without sound, can someone explain why that third strike to Volpe wasn’t valid?

are there any comments from Lux on his throw home?

Duke Not Snider

Ugly throw from a short distance. Rushed it.
Not technically an error… but a real disappointment.

Wayne

I hope Lux gets traded in the off-season.

Bluto

May be small overreaction, no?

Wayne

No

Bluto

Rushed it!?!!!

It was a weird soft toss.

Badger

His is a noodle arm. Get the easy out. It was 20’ from you. Take it.

Scott Andes

everyone complaining about Muncy have forgotten how good he was in the NLCS, and his on-base streak. I think he’s going to have a big game in game 5.

One more win, please close this out tomorrow Dodgers.

Bumsrap

He kept his bat on his shoulder and took the walks offered against Mets.

Wayne

The Yankees pitchers are tougher than the Mets pitchers. And even if he does better at the plate tonight, I highly doubt he has a “big game,” or becomes a big offensive factor to winning this series.

Last edited 1 month ago by Wayne
dodgerram

That was ugly. Hopefully this did not awake the Yanks bats.
Hudson and Honeywell looked awful both. Could an injury be coming for those two arms ? Is Phillipps healed ?Henriquez?

As Bear said, just one loss. But facing Cole now today and it could be 3-2 easily.
I am a little nervous.

Please put this series to bed today. Somehow.

Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Micheal Norris

Nope, won’t be any roster moves coming.

dodgerram

Is Shohei more injured than the Dodgers are letting out ?
His at bats looke terrible.

Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff

Of course he is. He cannot run without stabilizing his left shoulder. Who can take his place, Pages?

Bumsrap

That doesn’t explain his swings at balls way out of the strike zone

dodgerram

Agreed. You would think with an injured shoulder he would be more selective at the plate.

Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff

I never expected to win this game although the 2-0 lead gave a bit of hope. The Dodger B list Bullpen is just that, B list. If we were serious about this game, we would have seen a serious pitching rotation. We gave our A listers another day to rest and get mentally ready for tomorrow’s match. More importantly, Shohei looks done and dusted. Can we put this away without him? Freddie certainly thinks so and so does Edman.

2 out of my 3 favorite teams won. Warriors without Steph, and the Sharks beat L.A. for their 2nd straight win.

dodgerram

Had Hudson got Volpe the Dodgers go into the bottom of the 8th up 4-2. Then Honey never sees the mound, not even from the moon and the Dodgers have a great shot to close it out.

Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Jeff

Hudson has been on the decline and entered the B list a while ago.

Badger

A couple of small but I feel significant things:

Volpe was out on that tag at second. As soon as he was tagged with ball secure in glove, he’s out. A secondary move after that was his head hitting the glove knocking the ball out. Nobody on the broadcast said a word about it.

Apparently that strike 3 was called a foul tip. I didn’t see it.

There was more, none of which really had an effect on the outcome. Dodgers pitching got clobbered, Dodger offense didn’t keep up.

Muncy looks lost, Ohtani still insists on chasing. Hudson and Honeywell do not belong on the roster. But on the roster they are. Hopefully we won’t see either of them again.

The home plate ump, who was supposed to be best of this unimpressive bunch, missed some crucial calls. This will continue to happen no matter who is behind the plate.

Betts is OPS’n .667, Ohtani .478, Muncy .200, Smith .562, Kiké .571, Lux .614. How the hell is this team up 3-1? Freeman, Edman and Teo are leading the way.

The Yankees were given life last night. I sure hope it’s snuffed out tonight.

philjones

Yes, I said the HPU was the best of this crew, knowing full well that if he was twice as good as the others, it was still 2 times zero. What a crew.

Lux had a shitty game. Including getting doubled off second on a liner to first. Inexcusable.

Bumsrap

I was thinking the same thing on the tag of Volpe but I also thought that he could have been safe because a fielder has to intentionally take the ball out of his grip/glove.

Badger

Never heard that one.

Bumsrap

Rule 5.09(a)(1) to 5.09(a)(2)
40
ball is dead. Status of runners shall be as described in Rule
5.06(b)(3)(C) Comment.
A catch is the act of a fielder in getting secure possession in his
hand or glove of a ball in flight and firmly holding it; providing he
does not use his cap, protector, pocket or any other part of his uni-
form in getting possession. It is not a catch, however, if simultane-
ously or immediately following his contact with the ball, he collides
with a player, or with a wall, or if he falls down, and as a result of
such collision or falling, drops the ball. It is not a catch if a fielder
touches a fly ball which then hits a member of the offensive team or
an umpire and then is caught by another defensive player. In estab-
lishing the validity of the catch, the fielder shall hold the ball long
enough to prove that he has complete control of the ball and that his
release of the ball is voluntary and intentional. If the fielder has
made the catch and drops the ball while in the act of making a throw
following the catch, the ball shall be adjudged to have been caught

Badger

I thought we were talking about the play at second base.

Bumsrap

We were

philjones

I agree with you Bum, that it was not a completed catch by Lux at second base. Contact with the runner caused the ball to be dislodged and it ejected out of the web. There is absolutely no way that nono-second Lux had the ball would or should be ruled a catch. The rule is even too liberal on catch and transfers let alone on a tag.

Badger

I saw it differently.

He tagged the hand in front of the bag, there was separation, then Volpe’s head hit the glove over the bag causing the ball to pop out.

And the infielder doesn’t need to show possession to the umpire. What is being talked about there is a fly ball being caught by a fielder.

dodgerram

Alanna will shave her head if the Dodgers lose this WS.
At about 16.30 minutes.

I didn’t know he had cancer. Must be why he didn’t do many games on 570 this year. Very sad, hope he gets back full time for next year.

Micheal Norris

They announced he was sick during spring training. He left soon afterwards.

Bluto

They announced he had a bad back in spring training.

the public cancer revelation happened within the last two weeks.

Bobby

There was a great article in the LA Times before Game 1 about Steiner and how these were the two teams he worked for. The one time I met him he was super friendly.

Scott Andes

I had a very funny moment with him and Dick Enberg in the bathroom of the Dodger stadium press box where we were all trying to figure out how to pronounce Arruebarrena while at the urinals. That was years ago. really good guy. Speedy recovery Charlie.

tedraymond

Well, that turned out about the way I expected. Some good along with a couple of bad pitches lead to a lopsided result.

Casparius threw a couple of decent innings. His control wasn’t the best. He has some impressive stuff. I look forward for him to improve in the offseason and be a nice addition to the 2025 bullpen. He could, hopefully, replace Daniel Hudson who should retire. Hudson was ineffective, as he was most of the season. Hudson had no control with the placement of his pitches. I guess he got frustrated and thought, fuck it, let’s get this over with and threw a center cut FB to Volpe for a grand slam HR.

Landon Knack, also, had a good outing. He ate up four innings and kept the game close. That was spoiled by Honeywell’s disaster of an inning. It probably didn’t make any difference as the Dodgers were down by two with three outs left.

Max continues his pattern of either hot as hell or absolutely nothing with his offense. He has a record breaking series against the Padres. Now, that he’s not hitting he goes into trying to, unsuccessfully, draw a walk. He watches down the middle pitches goes by, then gets into 0-2, 1-2 counts and chases to strikeout. He’s like when a team scores double digits and then the next game nothing. Some competitive at bats would be helpful.

It’s a tough call with Ohtani and his injury badly affecting his offense. Fans are wanting to see him hit, but at what expense to the detriment to the team? He is not comfortable at the plate and is swinging at uncompetitive pitches. And this is in the leadoff spot. He is not helping the team right now. But, with only one victory needed to win the World Series I guess they stay the course.

I look for tonight’s game to be low scoring. I expect Cole will have a strong outing so that could limit the Dodger offense. How much? Well, other than Freddie’s given two run HR (lol) and quite a few slumping Dodger hitters maybe 2-3 runs.
Because the Yankees scored 11 runs in game 4 look for their offense to be somewhat quiet. Especially with Flaherty starting and the top relievers all available.

Let’s hope they can close it out tonight. I’m too damn old to have this series continue back to LA. Make it parade time!

Carry on.

dodgerram

Very stressful postseason has taken a toll on me. I have decided enough is enough.
My heart rate is way up, blood pressure too during those stressful games.

What makes this especially excruciating is that the games start at 1.10 am here in Germany. 3-4 hours every night of pure stress during a time when the body usually recovers.

With a heavy heart I have decided to skip watching the games live, maybe even all together.
Will take a sleeping pill tonight around 1ö-11 pm and probably will check only the result of the game via Bears recap next morning. Hopefully it is about a champagne party in the Dodgers clubhouse.

Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve considered the same approach ram. I find myself saying out loud “I’m too old for this sh*t” while I’m lying in bed trying to sleep after a game. But, screw it, I can sleep through football season. The Rams aren’t going anywhere.

The Dodgers need to bring the thunder. It’s there, but with the obvious exceptions it’s just been under wraps. Let’s score double digits and end this.

Wally Moonshot

The other stressful thing for me is the atrocious umpiring. How many plays at first were overturned last night? And no matter who’s behind the plate it’s like having Mr. Magoo calling balls and strikes. It’s embarrassing.

Last edited 1 month ago by Wally Moonshot
philjones

ABS with NO challenge, please. Just get the calls right using ABS.

OhioDodger

Yes. The sooner the better.

Badger

Agree

Wally Moonshot

Yes! A lot of stress. I’ve been recording the games which allows me to fast forward when the Yankees are up if I choose ( I did this a lot last night). Doesn’t change the outcome of the game but keeps my BP under control.

Bobby

Being at Yankee Stadium yesterday (and going again tonight), I did notice my heart rate up as well. I already take bp pills so I would’ve hated to see where my BP actually was.

I may resort to doing pushups every inning to stay calm at Yankee Stadium

Micheal Norris

Ted, you are dead wrong about Hudson being bad most of the season. His ERA after 39 games was 1.73. His biggest bugaboo was homers. He gave up 10, but most of them in non-critical situations. He was not nearly as good in the second half. But at this point, with Phillips out, they had few options other than keeping Henriquez on the roster or activating Kelly. Hudson had 10 saves, second most on the team to Phillips. So yeah, he has not been the same guy, but their choices were limited. Would not have mattered much. Yankee pen owned them the last 4 innings. They had one K prior to the 6th inning. From the 6th to the 9th, they had 7. And hard to score runs when your 50 plus HR guy has just 2 hits so far in the series. Max is part of the problem, but not all of it. Smith, Muncy, Lux, all need to step up and play better.

tedraymond

You’re expecting me to remember what he did 6-7 months ago? Lol. Obviously, incorrect in my comment. I think he was on the IL at some time in the middle of the season. He didn’t seem to be very effective on his return.

Who said Muncy was the only problem with the offense? Even with only two hits for Ohtani, that’s two more than Muncy. I would just like to see a productive AB from the guy. Especially, from a player who set the consecutive on base record in the series against the Padres. How do you go from that to what we’re seeing now?

Last edited 1 month ago by tedraymond
philjones

Good post again Ted, as usual.
I’m hopeful that Flaherty and the high leverage guys get it done tonight but my gut says Yamamoto wins it back in LA. I hope those are just misidentified hunger pains.

Well Doc stuck to his game plan as long as we were behind in the game and burned NO A-list bullpen pieces.
I’m good with that.
Had Mookie done something big in the 7th with a man on and 2 runs down, perhaps it would have changed the plan

I wonder where Chad Fairchild keeps his German Shepard and his White Cane when he’s umpiring at 1st? Thanks to replay overturning consecutive missed calls at first. Come-on-man.

So, we get Fairchild tonight behind the dish. I hope he’s better there than at first. My book on Chad Fairchild – “low ball ump. Can expand the plate in both rivers. (ie expands east and west) Misses strikes north”.

I have never seen, in all my years, a fan actually pluck the ball out of a fielder’s glove. It was Steve Bartman 5.0. I hope he and his partner in crime found a nice local bar to watch the game after the 2nd inning.

Cole and Flaherty. I would not be surprised to see Yamamoto win the Series in LA, later in the week.

Wally Moonshot

I read that the two jokers who tried to assault Mookie were not only kicked out of the game but banned for game 5. They’re season ticket holders! They behaved more like escaped convicts.

Micheal Norris

I read today that they were not banned and will be allowed to attend. That was on google news.

Micheal Norris

Will Venable will be the new White Sox skipper. Played with LA for a short time in 2016. Son of Max Venable, who was drafted by the Dodgers in the third round in 1976. He was then picked by the Giants in the 78 Rule 5 draft. Only Marlins job remains to be filled.

Bumsrap

I hope AJ Ellis gets it

Bluto

Venable has been a hot candidate for a long time particularly amongst analytically inclined teams.

The fact that he’s going to the same place that brought LaRussa back is really curious.

Micheal Norris

The two fans who tried to steal Betts glove will be allowed to attend game 5. Now that’s just wrong. Fans who pull shit like that should be banned for the rest of the season. No excuse for that kind of behavior. But what can you expect from those clowns.

dodgerram
Wally Moonshot

They should have their season tickets revoked.

Cassidy

And the Dodger left field fans against the Padres?

Wally Moonshot

I’m sure they were removed. But they were pretty tame compared to the New Yawkers

Badger

What I saw was the fan who was handed a ball between innings (by Profar) threw it back on the field. Nothing was throw at player.

What is it that you guys saw that would warrant throwing someone out of the park?

OhioDodger

Instead of turning to one of the top options, Dave Roberts brought Daniel Hudson into the game. The same Hudson who threw 22 pitches the night before. The same Hudson who was allowing batters to reach base at a .353 clip over his previous four games in October.
In that moment, the Dodgers should have turned to one of their reliable arms. Whether it be Michael Kopech, Ryan Brasier, Brusdar Graterol or Anthony Banda. Whoever it may be, one of those guys should have been in the game. Not Hudson.

Wayne

The Dodgers using ONLY low-leverage pitchers for all of game 4 makes it safe to assume the Dodgers hierarchy already had a (mostly) punt-this-game mentality going into that game. They hoped their bats would explode against Gil to win a high-scoring contest, ..didn’t happen. Their calculations to rely on better pitching to lock down the Yankee bats in game 5 and/or 6 better work ….or else.

Last edited 1 month ago by Wayne
Wayne

Dodgers are in better shape these next 2 games with Flaherty tonight, Yoshi next game (if needed), and a rested A-List BP available the next 2 games. But the offense is now worrisome, because the Yankees pitchers have the ability to shut down Muncy, Lux, and an injured Ohtani. So to win this series in 5 or 6 games, the best Dodgers pitchers must out-duel the best Yankees pitchers in low-scoring affairs. The one (hopefully) significant edge we have tonight is a more rested A-List pen compared to the Yankees best pen arms, who have been used judiciously these last 2 games.

Muncy should be batting behind both Edman and Kike based on recent performance dont undrstand Docs reasoning

philjones

To be perfectly honest, I would prefer Miggy at short and Edman in center, with Kike off the bench. Rojas is a better defender at SS than Edman, but I want Edman in the lineup.

Make Mine Blue

I’m with ya there, except I would replace Lux with Mr. October at 2B. Lux is having a very poor hitting series.

OhioDodger

Agree. Lux is lost and Kike is a better defender.

Bluto

Not healthy.

Neither are Ohtani and Lux, but they have better hit tools to begin with.

Make Mine Blue

Is Ohtani really healthy enough to be batting. He has to hold onto his shoulder/chest like Dolly Parton in a foot race. That tells me something is pretty wrong. I don’t recall anybody on a MLB hanging onto their titties in order to get by.

Badger

He hit two balls over 100 mph last night. He needs to be in there.

Lux doesn’t. And now that I’ve said that may he get 3 hits.

Cassidy

Well, we’d rather win in LA anyway!

Eric

This is what I was talking about in the last series. When you’re able to go for the kill you go for the kill. Yesterday Doc could’ve went for the kill with the high leverage relievers after the first 2 innings, but he gave up on the game when the Dodgers were ahead by using the weak relievers.

Im not giving up on this game, but yesterday Doc allowed the Yankees offense to wake up.

I’ll try to stay positive, but it’s not looking so good. Cole is dealing, has a low pitch count through 2 IP and is throwing strikes.

OhioDodger

I agree. Flaherty is a #3 at best. Will be seeking #1 or #2 money. And some team will give it to him.

norcaldodgerfan

Agree, thought he might get an offer after his WS game 1 performance, but he won’t be back. Really a big disappointment with his performance tonight. Wasn’t ready pitching on four days rest when his best pitching performances for the entire year was after five days rest.

Didn’t like the BP game last night and the start to this game was my biggest nightmare today as I thought about the game while I golfed today. The Yankee’s offense seemed to find it last night and Muncy, Lux, Smith and Shohei have shown little this WS.

Bluto

I don’t think they will have the budget for him.

Cassidy

Relax. I think if we were told we’d be up 3-2 going back to LA, we all would have jumped on it. Rodon and Schmidt don’t strike any fear in me. Yamamoto delivers in game 6.

Norcaldodgerfan

If you told me the Dodgers would be up 3-2 with only having to win one game to win the WS and would play games 6 & 7 at DS, I would have taken that in a heartbeat.

What makes me feel uneasy is our offense sans FF, Mookie and Edman. Muncy, Shohei, Smith, Lux, Teo have been terrible this WS.

Bluto

I’m just waiting for comments on: body language, lineup order, fiery eyes, and #firefriedman.

So sick and tired of Smoltz. He nearly sounds illiterate and makes up shit that makes no sense.

The entire Fox post season broadcast team is the need of some new blood. Can’t understand Big Papi, ARod is garbage but Jeter is good. He looks disgusted having to listen to ARod and Papi.

Cassidy

Somebody should have locked Lux and Ohtani in their hotel rooms!

Cassidy

You!

Eric

And that’s why you go with your best relievers, because anything can happen. Doc’s going with his best relievers today and that’s why I’m not on Doc’s case about today’s game. I’m not a Doc hater because I give him credit when credit is due, but I will get on his case when he screws up like he did yesterday. I shouldn’t get Doc hater comments. I gave him credit for using his good relievers in whatever game that was against the Padres that turned things around. I’m giving him credit today. If the Yankees beat the Dodgers in games when Doc gives them the dodgers best then you tip your cap to the Yankees and say you beat us against our best.

Yankee brain farts!

I am officially over Gavin Lux! I’d rather see Taylor if the series goes on.

Norcaldodgerfan

Who can pitch assuming the Dodgers keep it close? I don’t like our options listed above.

OhioDodger

Another poor umpire performance. Two balls to Judge were strikes.

Cassidy

Throw Muncy into the locked room with Ohtani and Lux. That was your moment Max! And you blew it$

I like it Bear.

Eric

So much for the strategy of giving the good relievers an extra day off to make them more effective today and giving away yesterday‘s game. 2 runs in 5.2 innings today and maybe more importantly, not giving enough length to close it out. Again when you’re able to go for the kill (yesterday) you go for the kill. And again, I’m not giving up on this game.

Prove me wrong Gavin!

Cassidy

TREINEN!!!!!!!!! Wow! That was intense!

Eric

Considering who is left in the bullpen, what could be the harm in using Buehler to close this out? Damn, I made this comment before they showed Buehler in the bullpen.

You have to give Robert’s major props. He did not give up on this game down 4/0 to Cole. He got Flaherty out early. Not even Eric could complain!

Eric

I already said that. Doc did nothing wrong today. Key word today.

Eric

I’ll be impressed if Doc uses Buehler in the ninth to close it out, whether or not it works. Treinen might be out of gas.

Three more outs!!!

Eric
