Players do not have to be on the current 26 (28) man roster or even the 40 man roster to be eligible for the playoffs. The player only needs to be in the organization on September 1. While we tend to look at the pitchers who could take a spot on the roster not on the 26 man, all pitchers that are considered are on the 40 man. I will get to them in a bit.
Which player not on the 40 man, but eligible for the playoffs, should travel with the team as a member of the taxi squad? Catcher Chris Okey. Will Smith does not look like he will make it back (maybe the WS…maybe). That leaves Dalton Rushing and Ben Rortvedt as the two catchers who will be on the roster. But what if…? Rushing has always been subject to some injury so it is not unthinkable that he could get injured. Rortvedt has played well enough that I am sure the Dodgers will be okay if he assumes the majority of play time. But he too is playing a position that is prone to injury.
If either go down, next man up is Chris Okey, a 30 year old, former 2nd round pick of the Reds out of Clemson, outstanding baseball university. He just completed his 2nd year in the LAD organization as a depth catcher in OKC. He is not particularly overwhelming in any facet of the game, but seems to make all of the routine plays. 2 errors and 4 passed balls in 196.1 innings. He appears to have a relatively weak arm as 35 out of 39 would be base stealers were successful. Then again that could be a lot on the pitchers, as holding runners on does not seem to be a high priority for the organization.
Finally, his hitting is not all that inspiring at .220/.280/.336/.616 in hitter friendly Pacific Coast League.
Why not Chuckie Robinson? He was picked up off waivers by Atlanta. I am confident that he would have been next man up had he still been with LAD.
Lock position players:
- Freddie Freeman
- Tommy Edman
- Mookie Betts
- Max Muncy
- Michael Conforto
- Andy Pages
- Teoscar Hernández
- Dalton Rushing
- Ben Rortvedt
- Shohei Ohtani
- Miggy Rojas
- Kiké Hernández
That leaves Alex Call and Hyeseong Kim. That is going to be a tough selection. Kim has a plus because he is a better pinch runner option than Call. Another plus for Kim is that he could be a LH bat off the bench. Miggy Ro and Kiké are both RH hitting. Whatever catcher is on the bench will be LH hitting, but their primary role is backup catcher and not PH.
Kim is an elite defensive infielder. I don’t know if he is an elite defensive OF, but I am not sure that he is that much better defensive OF than Call, if he is at all.
But the tipping point is trust. We know that the Dodgers brain trust prefers veterans over rookies. With that in mind, this is what Doc had to say about Hyeseong:
“I don’t feel comfortable with him versus left-handed pitching. Balls that are going away from him,” Roberts said. “I think with Hyeseong, I love the defense. … This is his first year in the major leagues and I think he’s done a great job.
“I think right now for Hyeseong, there’s too much chase out of the hitting zone and there’s not enough contact. So for me, when you chase a lot and you don’t make a lot of contact, that is not a good spot for the postseason.”
So I am going with Alex Call. Dodgers want veterans on the bench. And the Dodgers are not a big base running team. Miggy Ro and Kiké are just fine as defensive infielder replacements or platoons.
Why do I think Conforto is a lock after being dismissed by the fans for most if not all of the season? For most of the year, Conforto was bad. No other adjective fits. But he has seemingly turned it around. Since August 24, Conforto has had 69 PA and has hit .311/.377/.492/.869. Is that sustainable? I have no idea, but Conforto does not hit at that level for him to be a positive contributor.
Is 69 PA too small of a sample size for the naysayers to be comfortable? Okay, here he is in his last 100 PA: .247/.310/.371/.681.
Lets compare that to:
- Teoscar Hernández – 100 PA – .213/.290/.360/.650
- Ramón Laureano – 102 PA – .226/.284/.419/.704
- Ryan O’Hearn – 101 PA – .245/.297/.271/.578
So AF was patient allowing Conforto to try and work things out, while AJ Preller spent a lot of prospect capital for both Laureano and O’Hearn. Even if Conforto hits between his last 100 PA and his last 69 PA, I think the Dodgers will be happy with the results. This is not a knock on either Laureano or O’Hearn, who are both very good players, and are more than capable of being a force in a short series. It is just that the Dodgers did not need to expend that level of prospect capital for a new LF.
Next I will work on the my forecast for the pitching, which is more of a challenge.
Joe Davis said it all…”No Words”
Ive never seen a team care so little about winning games in the regular season when they matter most.
Tanner Scott is one of the most pathetic pitchers Ive ever seen. There is absolutely no reason to ever use him again. No excuses. He should be immediately released as I am typing this post. Just pathetic.
Nobody can say a word to me about the Carlos Santana trade, or Andruw Jones or Jason Schmidt. The T. Scott, Kirby Yates, and Michael Conforto signings are the worst offseason acquisitions in Dodgers history. And the Dodgers are still using them in the last week of the regular season.
Still using Scott/Yates/Conforto at this point is beyond the team caring so little. They’ve gone insane!
OK, not insane, but definitely arrogance.
He had no other choices.
actually Bear, they had a ton of options available, several at least.
Option 1. (My preferred option) The front office could easily just release Tanner Scott from the organization and eat the rest of his salary. This way, there is no way he can ever blow another game again.
Option 2. With a fully rested bullpen (thanks to the much improved and often un-hittable starting pitchers going deeper into games) Roberts and Friedman could have just not used him. Anyone else, including the ghost of Ralph Branca would have been better than using that bum. Even Trienen, Banda, Wrobleski, Kershaw! (they had already used Dreyer, Henriquez, Vesia, but there were still other options available) Even Yates would have been a better choice in the 9th. Asbolutely anyone is better than Tanner Scott (and his 10 blown saves, which is mind blowingly bad)
Option 3. Stretch out the starters even longer. Let Ohtani and the rest of the guys pitch an extra inning, or two. Their arms are not going to fall off. Ohtani had pitched 6 innings, but maybe he could have pitched an etxra inning. Then Dreyer and Henriquez come into the game in the 8th and not the 7th. and Vesia pitches the 9th.
There is never an excuse to continue to lose games for no reason other than the excuse of There was nobody else. There was plenty of else, but the Dodgers chose…CHOSE to use the nobody.
Nobody =10 blown saves
I am talking about last night; all the other stuff is a moot point. Those decisions should have been made a long time ago if they were going to be made at all. And you of all people should know that there is no way on earth they are eating the last three years of his contract. Easy for you to say, it isn’t your money. If he was in the last year of the deal maybe. I don’t know why they did not use Banda or Kersh, Treinen or whoever. They could have used Klein I guess, but they needed to see if Scott could be trusted. He was coming off of four straight scoreless outings. They add an option tonight; Sasaki is going to be activated. Ohtani was not pitching into the seventh. That wasn’t the plan. And no matter what anyone thinks, performance is still on the player. Had Dreyer and Henriquez done their jobs, Scott might not have pitched at all.
Needed to see if he was trusted? What more do they need to see? He’s been terrrible all year.
Here are some numbers from an article from Yahoo Sports.
“The last time a Dodgers starting pitcher took a loss was Sept. 4, a span of nearly two weeks. They have gone 10-7 in that span. In all seven of those losses, Scott or Treinen took the loss.
Let’s reiterate: In every Dodgers loss since Sept. 4, it was one of two guys who yielded the winning runs.”
“It’s not just that their bullpen ranks fifth-worst in MLB since the start of September, with a 5.69 ERA. It’s also that the three guys they were supposed to rely on the most have allowed 21 of their 43 earned runs allowed.”
BP sucks right about now. Not a single arm down there I trust. 1.5 game lead over SD with 5 to play. SD has 4 left.
Not just now, but all season.
I expect Sheehan will become the closer in post season. The problem is, who can cover innings 6-8? It will be interesting to see how Sasaki does when he’s added tomorrow.
The 3 batter minimum is killing us
Total and complete meltdown!
Been a fan for a long long time. I have seen the Dodgers blow leads with less than a week to play. But I did not expect that from this bunch. And maybe that is my problem. Expectations. What I do know is that they had a 9-game lead and now they lead by just 1.5 games. with 5 to play. I also did not expect the top of this lineup to be as inconsistent as they have the last couple of months. Freddie is as solid a hitter as there is in the league, but he has not gone on one of his patented runs where he is just hitting the ball all over the ballpark. They are in the playoffs, but, if they were to tie for the lead with the Padres, they would win the division since they own the tie breaker and they still would stay in the same bracket as the Phillies. If by some miracle the Padres overtake them, then they would be in the same bracket with the Brewers.
Each player at the top of this lineup has not met expectations to various degrees this season–especially Freddie/Mookie who collectively are not what they used to be. And now the absence of Smith puts even more pressure on them to perform like stars on a consistent basis.
I recall a post game interview with Scott after his last blown save where he said “baseball hates me.” No Tanner you just suck!
Friedman will never admit his mistakes. scott, yates, conforto when the season is over we still have Friedmans arrogance but not another trophy. Sad
If he did, he would be publicly criticizing his players. Praise in public, criticize in private.
In an alternative universe, the Dodger brass pass on Conforto and roll with Outman in CF, with Pages shifting to a corner. Outman may have hit as poorly as Conforto–but he’d win a few games with his defense. (Frankly, I think Outman catches the ball that Pages couldn’t get to today, and he’d have gone to the wall to try to save Yamamoto’s no-hitter.)
When AF signed Conforto, I trusted his judgment. But even then I thought Bader made more sense, and he’d have been a lot cheaper. Even with Conforto finishing strong, it’s clear that the $17 million contract was a mistake. (I will happily eat crow if Conforto wins the MVP during any round of the playoffs.)
Anyway, I think your analysis of the position players is correct–but I sure hope Smith heals faster.
At any rate, the big worry remains the bullpen.
Roberts always likes to talk about guys move up on his “trust tree,” but Treinen, Scott and Yates must be losing their grip.
If this was simply a meritocracy, Scott’s performance should keep from the playoffs. Just too erratic. From the left side, the Dodgers could choose between with Vesia, Kershaw, Dreyer, Banda and Heaney. But Scott is making the big bucks, so a couple of those guys will probably lose out.
From the right side, I’m confident that Sheehan will step up, and hopeful that Sasaki and Casparius will make successful returns. What’s the latest on Kyle Hurt? Is he also an option?
Seriously, I wonder if the Dodgers approached the Angels about Kenley, who’s having a terrific season. Were bridges burned or something?
Oh well.
Let’s get Joe Kelly on the playoff roster and have him drill someone and get this bullpen train running again!
I know it’s silly, but I’m still pissed at Joe Kelly for breaking Hanley Ramirez’s rib so many years ago.
The post season has started.
The Dodgers have to win 3 of 5 to avoid being a Wild Card entry.
It’s time to reorganize the bullpen for this 5 game stretch. Yates and Scott have played their way off this team. Even Dryer is now suspect. I think it’s time to give Sasaki, Heaney and Kershaw a spot. Is Brock Stewart done for the year? Hurt? Will they need one more start out of Sheehan?
And the bats? The HOF top of that lineup needs to take charge. 3-4 runs are just not enough from now on.
Not giving up yet, but this brings back memories of another year end collapse in early 2000s. I’m not a researcher, I’ll leave that to others, but this is my memory.
A close race against SD. We beat them in a series next to last weekend. Then play SF mid week. Take the first 2 games. Now up 4 with 4 to play. Lose the last game. Now up 3. Play SD at home(?) final weekend. Need just 1 win to wrap up crown. Lose all three. Play them Monday in a playoff. Lose that game. Now we are wild card. Fly to Atlanta and lose both games there. Come home and lose again to Braves. So end season with 8 straight loses.
You are correct, but this was 1996. They were up by 4 with 4 to play, they actually ended up losing 7 seven consecutive games to end the season and then getting swept in the NLDS by Atlanta. They needed just one win against SD in their last three games at home, and SD swept them as well. There was no tiebreaker, or playoff for the NL West. They just lost every game the final week, swept, and then swept away in the NLDS.
I was at game 1 of that NLDS against Atlanta, sitting in the top deck. Piazza nearly won the game in the 8th with a long fly ball to the wall in right field, but it died in the cool breeze.
I’ve not heard Doc give his speech yet on why Scott was used last night.
But at this point, nothing short of “he has incriminating pictures of me and Friedman” would suffice.
It was a stupid move to put him in, and honestly, it’s not fair to Tanner Scott.
If you want Scott to regain confidence, you can’t keep pushing him into the deep end of the pool. Put him in the game when the score is 7-1, not 4-3.
God willing Roki has the mental toughness to come in and help the bullpen. Or Scott is healthy. Or Heaney found something. Or Mariano Rivera decides to come to LA.
That was a hard watch. As things were unraveling I couldn’t actually decide who I would bring out of the Bullpen with any confidence.
Its Doc’s way to back his players, to make them feel good even after a sub par performance, but you know that he must be worried because there literally isn’t one arm you can rely on.
This makes me believe that the only possible way forward is to bring in some fresh arms because the current bunch are mentally finished. Treinen, Yates and Scott, his high leverage relievers are done. I would give Heaney a shot, and obviously Sheehan and Kershaw (with a little bit of fingers crossed), and Sasaki have to come in.
So many Post Season games are decided in the late innings, the Dodgers have big problems. Maybe Glasnow can finish Ohtani’s start ( Ohtani is gonna start a game), and maybe Sheehan and Kershaw the other two if needed. Keep the ball out of the BP hands.
On a positive note, our Starting Pitching is the best out there. There is still hope.
How about starting relievers and closing with starters? That’s about as low leverage as you can get. But, a little late for that experiment.
The Dodgers lineup has to do what they are paid to do. Score and score some more. They do they win. They don’t they won’t.
Unless Sheehan turns into Julio 2.0 from the 2020 season the bullpen will be the downfall this postseason.
Or Sasaki comes out of nowhere to be the hero. Or Hurt. I have zero confidence in this bullpen, not even one arm is reliable.
Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And that is why I would absolutely go with Hurt and Sasaki out of the BP. Yates, Treinen and Scott have had all season to perform. Scott has 10 blown saves and Treinen has 5 I believe.
I realize it’s up to the players to perform but equally disappointing is the FA and trade deadline acquisitions by the FO. Asleep at the switch at the deadline. We needed a closer and they stood pat with what we had.
They didn’t stand pat. They landed Stewart and Call. They also picked up Rortvedt.
All the players the Dodgers need are there and ready to go. They just need to perform. If the top of this lineup doesn’t kick it in gear, it won’t matter who replaces Scott and Yates.
Who will be the hot team going into next week? At the moment that team is the Padres, 7-3 and 4 in a row.
Call and Stewart at the deadline. OK they didn’t stand pat but they, by those acquisitions, didn’t do much of anything.
Players with multi year contracts don’t have to be on the playoffs roster so no need to put Scott on it. Treinen and Yates shouldn’t be either.
Yams and Sheehan would be 1 and 2. Glasnow is too inconsistent so he should finish what Snell starts. Kershaw could finish Sheehan’s start.
Last year we went into October with the starting pitching in shambles and this year it’s the bullpen. Still hope!
D-Backs have better numbers against Snell than the Dodgers do against Nelson. Only homer off of him came from Conforto. Az has hit 4 against Snell.
It is up to the players to perform. We can come on here and bitch all we want but in the final analysis, it is on the Dodgers to get the job done. All we can do is watch. It is easy to talk about things after the fact, and the fact is that many were elated when they signed Scott and Yates, two pitchers who were outstanding last year. But bullpen arms have always been volatile. You do not know how a pitcher is going to perform once he steps on that mound. Scott had pitched four consecutive scoreless outings heading into last night’s game. After the game, Doc said he was relying on his slider too much. That was obvious since it kept breaking inside to the right-handed hitters. The first job of a reliever, especially a closer, is throw strikes. Scott failed to do that. But Dreyer and Henriquez did not do their jobs either. Otherwise it would not have been 4-3 in the 9th.
Where is the accountability for management? Do they get a free pass? If so, then why have a manager, or POBO? Or GM?
I’ll give you the Kirk Analogy. If the Klingons destroy or disable the Enterprise during a mission, who would you blame for that? Do you blame Chekov? Do you blame Sulu? Spock? Do you blameone of the other crew members? Who do you hold accountable?
You hold the Captain of the ship accountable. Sure maybe the crew has performed poorly, but blaming the players is like blaming the bridge crew for Kirk’s mistakes. “I am responsible for the lives of 450 crewman on this ship” – Captain Kirk.
Kirk said it best. If his tactical officer doesn’t know how to fire phasers, you are not going to see Kirk continuing to use him over and over. Either he learns how to use the phasers, or Kirk is going to get someone else.
It’s time the Dodgers use someone else in the 9th inning.
Bull puckey, performance in sports is always on the player. The managers and coaches can’t do shit between the lines.
It was always “Bone’s” fault.
Can I get a different analogy since I didn’t watch Star Trek (the only Star Trek I know is from Big Bang Theory)
He means the responsibility for performance is on management, which is fine in the business world, but in sports the employees usually are making a hell of a lot more money than the manager and coaches. Performance is always on the players. Tonight, once again, the players out of the bullpen blew a lead for the third straight game. Luckily, Kersh did his job and so did Wrobo. Edman with a key 2 out hit in the 11th. But once again, their 700-million-dollar man looked like a 2, 000 dollar used car in the clutch. They still as a team strike out too damn much and they are terrible at situational hitting.
I don’t mean performances, as in striking out in a key situation, or giving up a lead late in the game. I mean the team’s overall direction and strategy fall on management.
Management is the one driving the bus, not the players. Where the team finishes, yes that’s on the players too, but the steering of the ship is decided by management. The players run the operations, but the ship hits an iceberg without management. And if the ship hits an iceberg that’s the responsibility of management to guide the boat through choppy waters. You can’t just blame the crew and not give any accountability towards the captain and the first officer.
Also I think it’s a bit odd how you constantly complain about the best player on the planet who’s hit 53 home runs and pitches like an ace on the mound, yet never complains about the guy (“the closer”) who’s blown 10 games this year, given up 12 home runs and posted an ERA over 5, or the left fielder hitting below .200 the entire season. Yes Ohtani should cut down on his strikeouts, but everything else he does more than makes up for it. This team would be nowhere without Ohtani, but without T.Scott they would probably have 5-7 additional wins. No offense Bear, just saying.
Multiple Choice on what Doc was doing bring in Tanner Scott for the 9th inning.
A) Scott has been solid as a rock in the last 10 appearances (11 ERA)
B) Winning the game doesn’t matter. The point is to continue playoff tryouts for the back end of the bullpen with Yates, Kopech, Treinen and Scott.
C) Its fun to walk 2 batters to see if Scott can work out of a jam that he creates..
D) Scott needs a confidence building opportunity for his self esteem and this was a nice opportunity
E) I have no friggin idea what Doc is doing and why Scott was in this game.
Yates is on the IL, he will definitely miss the Wild Card round.
I am still trying to get over Sundays game. He usually leans toward b. If we don’t win this one we will just get ‘em tomorrow. Mostly arrogant with no urgency. I just don’t understand why the players don’t go to Roberts and express their frustration.
What player has been so outstanding that they can go to Doc and say anything? The team as a whole has not performed. Last night the Dodgers had 7 base runners. That’s it, and only Teoscar had 2 hits, and had 3 of the 4 RBIs. He is not going to Doc to express his frustration, as Doc has let him slide most of the year. The only player on the team who is in a position to express any frustration is Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Muncy is the best hitter wRISP. His OPS is 1.164 in 84 AB with 11 HR and 54 RBI and he has been on the IL twice this year. Freddie? Mookie? Shohei? A well timed single in a critical spot in a game could have changed this whole season. All three have hit well wRISP, but too many runners left on base for all three.
This is on the players. They need to look in a mirror and ask themselves how much they want it.
Yeah, but it’s early.
Oh wait. It isn’t anymore. That was the excuse of choice the first half for pissin away games.
Here’s how I see the playoff pitching: (correct me if I’ve missed someone)
Starters:
Yamamoto
Glasnow – (makes me nervous. I actually prefer Sheehan but Doc won’t
Snell
Pen: in no particular order (we have a wealth of LHRP)
Vesia – L
Wrobleski – L
Kershaw – L
Banda – L
Dreyer – L
Ohtani – R (starter at home or closer?)
Sheehan – R (will be valuable in any role)
Casparius – R
Pick 3: (Ohtani is a freebie)
Henriquez – R
Knack – R
Klein – R (vs LHB)
Stewart – R (vs RHB)
Scott will likely make it due to his contract. He wouldn’t for me along with Yates, Kopech and Treinen.
We know that Roki Sasaki is going to be added to the 28 man today. I am guessing that Michael Kopech will go on the 60 day IL. They could release Yates, but as long as they can place Kopech on the 60 day IL, there is no reason…yet. Who gets optioned? Henriquez? Klein? We will have to wait and see who else is brought up this week. Casparius? Heaney? Hurt is a longshot, but who knows. It is also possible that they will be added to the playoff roster without getting on to the active for the season.
I previously stated my thoughts on Sasaki. But I’m open minded about giving him a look, Under the right circumstances in the last few gams. It would be nice if he showed some things he was lacking before and due to his injury.
But I a skeptical. And I’m not sure he’s needed. Here are reasons why NOT: Sasaki has 8 MLB games under his belt, total. I doubt he’s close to ready to be put in high leverage situations in the playoffs.
He is rusty and lacks experience. He’s 1 and 1 with a 4.72 ERA and a1.485 whip. He was damaged goods when he came to the Dodgers so that doesn’t matter much.. What does matter is he’s a rookie with no experience, untested, with a 64% walk rate. A problem for Dodger pitchers. We don’t need more walks.
There’s a nice conversation going regarding who’s responsible for losses. Is it on the players for not performing or Doc for putting players in situations when they are incapable of being successful, unless it’s a miracle.
I think it’s both. The players need to answer the bell assuming they are capable at that time and place to be successful. I think Doc is stubborn and it coast us games as much as the players lack of performance.
There is no way IMO that the Dodgers should throw Sasaki into the grease this year. He’s not close to ready, I predict. How could he be? Maybe he will show dominance in the next few games, if he gets the chance, but that is big ask.
Let him start fresh next spring and let him ease into a more successful season.
They released Chuckie Robinsoon, so I believe they can just add him.
No. He was claimed by Atlanta.
Hope you guys are getting something from all your venting.
Your team is still in first place in the division, they’ve been in the playoffs 13 years in a row, they’ve won 2 of the past 5 World Series and as Cassidy pointed out above:
“Last year we went into October with the starting pitching in shambles and this year it’s the bullpen. Still hope!”
You all have every right to be furious at the team, the players, the management, the umpires, MLB in general and the weather. After all, we live in America and we can say what we want to (as long as we keep it to baseball).
I’ve decided not to let this bother me. I seem to remember going through something very similar last year and that turned out OK. The only thing I can’t stomach is seeing an MLB player who doesn’t seem to be trying or doesn’t seem to care. I don’t see anyone on this team who fits that description.
In the meanwhile, carry on. I understand the need to verbalize your frustrations.
The last season I was eerily disappointed was 2017, before we knew that Houston cheated. I thought they were unbeatable, and I was wrong. Ever since, I have let it go. 2018, 2019, 2021,2022,2023 may have been disappointing, but I was over it the next day. That is what I feel about this year’s team. 13 playoffs in a row, and every year under AF. What is not to be proud of as a fan?
I thought all the team had to do was get into the playoffs. They are there. Let’s see what happens before we condemn them. If they lose, I will do an autopsy, but I will move on. Scott can go on a tirade that I will ignore. I will be following the prospects in the Arizona Fall League. If they win, I will not allow Scott to cheer about the win.
That being said, I have no problem with pointing out a problem with the bullpen. But there is nothing that can be done now except to pick pitchers who might come through.
I think I am over tirades. But I can’t cheer if they win?
Mostly I just champion for common sense throughout the season. I just do it in a very negative way admittedly.
Scott, out of curiosity, who are your teams in other sports? Also LA teams?
Only room for one team in my heart, but I do also root for the Lakers.
I 100% agree with you.
I’ll bitch in October, if we fold early. For now, I’m enjoying the ride (and the high for those who choose to partake)
More importantly, since I’m more than happy to back into a division title, Brewers Padres are in the 4th 0-0
Magic Number down to 2, kids!!
Final score: Milwaukee 3, Padres 1
Who would you rather face in the first round?
Mets, Reds, Cubs, Dbacks?
Mets or Reds at home. Essential to win the division and get the home field for the wild card round.
Haha I’ve been thinking of that all week.
AZ is playing well and knows us well
Cincy has some young power arms that held us in check last time
Mets are always scary to me but their pitching is currently a mess
Roki Sasaki was added to the 28 man roster. Kirby Yates was placed on the 10 day IL retroactive to September 21. He will be out of the WC consideration. After that???
After that, he’ll go on the IL with the other hamstring.
My blood pressure wont be able to take much more of this
Let’s give Doc some credit. Who thought bringing Treinen in with the bases loaded was gonna end well? TBF he managed the extra innings very well.Lets hope this is a turning point for Blake, we need him.
So Roki gets a seat in the Pen. I’d bring Heaney up for a look see, evidently he’s been pitching well at AAA.
Freddie doesn’t look right (or happy for that matter). Be good to get some positive news on Will.
Lets win it tomorrow.
