My Kingdom for a Win!

It would be really nice to see the Dodgers string together some wins, hell, I would settle for one right now. It has been painful to watch. It has been a long time since I have seen LA suffer through a stretch like this. Bad Dodger teams, yes, but a team with this much talent? It is really unfathomable. You see little glimpses of what they once were, then they go dormant, and no one can explain why.

I am just a fan; I have no inside knowledge of what is happening behind the scenes. It would be nice to know the temperature in the clubhouse. It was refreshing to see Miggy Ro stand up and say what we all were thinking. This makes me believe that each and every player on the team knows they need to be better. The superstars need to be super. The good players need to be good, and the fringe players need to be better than they were.

As frustrated as we are, I would venture a guess that the players themselves are equally or more frustrated. Nelson made a comment on last night’s telecast that instantly struck home for me. He said players seemed to be gripping the bat tighter and were not loose. That to me spells they are feeling the pressure and pressing. Mookie pretty much did the same thing during his prolonged slump.

Ohtani seems to be swinging at everything that is close to the strike zone instead of looking for a pitch he can drive. He crushes mistakes, but swings at way too many pitches out of the zone. Ohtani now has more Ks this year than he had last year in just 98 less at bats. Teo has his lowest BA and OPS in five years. Freeman on the other hand is just a tick below his career averages. So, at 35, he is not showing signs of slowing down yet.

They miss Muncy, they miss Edman. Kim just returned but he is still rusty. Last night was maybe one of the most frustrating 25 pitches I have ever watched. Up until that point, Yoshi had a gem. Yes, he hung one and Holliday hit it out. Here is where Doc and I differ. Yoshi had handled Jackson all night. He was 0-3 with a K. I would have let him have one more hitter. 5-6 pitches, what is the difference? Instead, he brought in Treinen. The problem with relief pitchers is that you do not know what you are going to get.

What he got from the very experienced Treinen was double, hit batter, walk, walk. 22 pitches just 9 strikes. And he was missing by a bunch. So, in comes Scott to face a RH hitter. Why Scott? Simple, you want to get the pitcher back out there ASAP after a bad outing. Well bad outing is a little harsh, he made ONE bad pitch, and he had two strikes on the guy. So, he gets a 1-1 count and throws a pitch that the guy barely gets his bat on for a looping liner to center that scores two. The blame here is not on Scott. It is on Treinen for not doing his job which was get ONE out.

OKC lost to Sugarland 2-0, their fifth straight loss. Muncy was 0-3 with 2 Ks. He is ready, and Edman was 2-2 with 2 walks. Frasso pitched 2 scoreless innings. Tulsa won 10-1. Tibbs III and Ehrhard had big nights. Great Lakes won 9-2. Gelof hit his 16th homer. Rancho beat Fresno 13-6. Six Quakes had multiple hits.

I’ve been a Dodger fan since 1959. This is the most embarrassing loss I’ve ever seen – Badger

For someone who’s baseball acumen I hugely respect to make this statement really does make me realise that last night’s defeat was almost unimaginably bad. I went to bed at about 3am here, with a 3-0 lead and a no hitter in progress.
To wake up to another terrible defeat was unbelievable.

Im aware that I’ve been positive and bullish about our chances this season, and I certainly dont want to come across as being a Contrarian, but other than the result (and Treinen’s poor performance), we actually played much better and I saw real improvement.

In fact, let’s be honest, we were very unlucky and
most nights would have won the game easily. The box score shows how dominant we were, but this is baseball and why we love it. If we’d won as we should posters would have been very uplifted by the overall performance.

Bottom line is we really are not far away. Yamamoto was seriously good. We looked dangerously close to being as advertised and that should encourage people rather than have a negative reaction.

Its coming. Our luck will turn. Muncy is a leader and Tommy Tanks will give us greater depth. Will will return shortly. We are not far away, and when we get on a roll we’ll be hard to beat. We are gonna get on a roll, with nearly all the key pieces back in the fold, and we are gonna take some stopping. Just wait till the confidence starts coursing through their veins. Keep the faith.

That’s the spirit W!

The mystics tell us we control nothing but our attitude. Karma plays out as it must. One way or another we will witness Dodger history – a back to back championship, not done in 25 years, or the collapse of the team with the highest payroll, though much deferred, in the history of sport history. And won’t we be glad to tell or children’s children we were there to witness it.

Let’s see how Doc and the team respond after yesterday’s ridic loss.

It will tell me something if they can put yesterday behind me and go out and win today.

In the meantime, I”ll be at Sofi Stadium watching the Rams and hopefully watching a W!!

Have u seen the lineup today? I feel sorry for Kershaw. Everytime he pitches Roberts puts the worst possible offense available. I guess anybody can win on a given day. Conforto batting cleanup so I wouldn’t be surprised if Roberts put kike in for the save today.

Bear, was that sarcasm on Muncy 0 for 3 with 2 k’s being ready? If so, touché. I worry that are great hopes are always guys coming back from the IL, be it hitters or pitchers. We hope that the good Muncy comes back, last year’s playoffs Edman comes back, a 20 yr old Glasnow (before the first of a thousand injuries) or some form of Kike has had a good couple of playoffs.
im afraid too much hoping.
our brand of baseball just sucks this year, too many errors, k’s, walks etc…,too many sub .200 hitters who swing for it all.., our all world dh who gets empty home runs, our lineup construction containing way too many head scratchers. The list could go on and on.

Let’s not overlook Rortvedt. Yams rarely shook off his catcher. Rortvedt almost called a no hitter.

Dodgers win!! Yay!!
Kershaw pitched great for 52/3
henriquez looked awful for 1/3
wrobleski walked a tight rope striking out several with every count full. 44 pitches in 2 innings but no runs
the c and Ohtani 1st and 2nd In ninth with nobody out. Betts hit one 3 inches from a homer for a single as Ohtani pulls his pages imitation n only made it to second. In the end it costs the Dodgers a 6th run. This is the same kind of baserunning that u just shake your head and say a professional player would not do.
Dreyer came in and got the first 2 same as last night. Next guy singles but finally the 3rd out. Dodgers win!

looks like the pads will stay 1 back. I just don’t c the dodgers winning the division. 1 up with Seattle and the red hot giants for 10 games while the pads play Colorado n white Sox for 7. It looks like we will play the cubs in wrigley. We also play 3 with Philly.

And got three innings from rookie pitchers in relief. Take that Tanner, Yates and Blake.

I’m not agreeing that we were just unlucky to lose that horrible game. Look at Teo-batting third 0-4. Ohtani twice batting with men on 2nd and 3rd and failing both times. Then getting one last shot. Man on first no outs. Lines out on first pitch. Great today two homers with no one on base.
