Minor League Report
OKC 7 Spokane 6 10 innings: OKC scored 2 in the bottom of the second, then gave up 3 in the top of the fifth. They then scored 3 in the bottom of the 5th to take a 5-3 lead. Spokane scored 2 in the top of the 9th for the tie. They then scored 1 in the top of the 10th, but OKC answered with 2 in the bottom of the 10th for the win. OKC had 14 hits. Feduccia was 3-5 with 2 driven in. Trejo was 2-4 and drove in 2. Outman, Avans and Ward also had 2 hits. OKC had 4 extra base hits, all doubles. Feduccia had 2 of those. Outman and Avans the others. Gonsolin went 2 innings allowing 2 hits and striking out 3. Choi went 4, 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks and 3 Ks. Dodson, Little, Dreyer, BS#1 allowed 3 hits and 2 runs. Lao allowed 1 run and got the win, #2.
Tulsa 5 Wichita 4: Tulsa scored 5 runs on just 5 hits. 2 of the hits were HRs, Alleyne #5 and Ramos, #17 a 2-run shot. They also received 6 walks. They scored 3 runs in the top of the 8th to seal the win. Ortiz-Mayr went 5.2 innings allowing 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned, 3 walks and 3 Ks. Harris went 1.1 and got the win, Morillo got the save.
Well what a crappy 8th inning
That run vs Yamamoto should have been unearned too. Would have been 4 errors in the game.
Another blown save for the Dodgers bullpen albeit with a huge portion of the blame to the “defense”.
Agree on Ohtani. He has to stop swinging for the fences every pitch.
Positives: Yamamoto was great. Graterol while giving up hard contact is back.
I still say give Henriquez a look. Can not have enough big arms for the postseason.
Especially with Banda now being out with a broken pitching hand.
Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, what a fiasco. Very encouraging outing by Yamamoto.
I’ll pick Koufax. If we had him we win that game.
Oh wait. No we wouldn’t have. 4 unearned. Actually 5.
It’s fun for me to watch good defense. I don’t see it with this team. On occasion maybe, but not night after night. That’s not who we are.
Slug or risk losing. THAT’S who we are.
Need to hang up pillows in dugout and clubhouse for guys to punch
I don’t get Anthony Banda. You’re a journeyman pitcher your whole career and never have had any success. In 2024 the Dodgers sign you ( I have not idea why), get you to be an effective bullpen piece, and now depend on you to be an important part of team in the middle of a pennant race. So, you have a poor outing and decide to punch a wall (or whatever) not with your glove hand, but with your pitching hand. Sir, you are a dumb shit! How can you be depended on for the postseason? What a selfish and thoughtless act on your part. I mean what are you thinking? You’re a 31 year old man who has been given a golden opportunity by the Dodgers and this is how you say thanks to them and the fans.
Again, you are a dumb shit. Thanks for trying. Now go away. There are hundreds of other pitchers who would love the opportunity that was given to you. The Dodgers and the fans deserve better.
Gonsolin looked very good in his first rehab start for OKC.
2 IP, no runs, 2h, 0 BBs, 2 Ks.
Might be an option for some long relief !?
Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to believe that the Dodgers will target at least one impact bat this winter. I do not think they try to extend Teo, and they certainly will not go with an outfield of Rushing, Outman, and Pages. I also believe it is up to Mookie whether he wants to return to the infield or stay in right. Ohtani, Yamamoto, Glasnow, Gonsolin, Miller, are guaranteed to be returning as starting pitchers. Depending on his injury, you could add Stone to that list and Knack. Wrobleski and Casparius will get some looks, but if Sasaki is posted by his team, I would say LA will definitely make a play for him. I think Lux has shown enough to be considered the starter at second, and it makes sense they trade for or sign a starting SS. Edman will take Kike’s spot, and Taylor will be in the last year of his deal unless they can trade him. If they do that, Rojas will be the backup infielder. Kiermaier, Kike, will be gone, most likely so will Buehler. Kersh’s future is in his hands since his option is a player option. I also think those who want Barnes gone are going to be disappointed. Barnes will be back for what is most likely his last year.
I would keep Rojas at SS, move Mookie to CF, put Pages in RF with a possible platoon with Outman/Rushing. Bring back Teo. I would be shocked if Barnes and Taylor are not back.
I suspect that Rojas, Barnes and Taylor will return next season. Rojas has a team option as does Barnes and Taylor is still under contract. Kershaw has a player option. Barnes and Rojas are cheap signings and provide what the Dodgers want. Taylor has escalators if he’s traded and he gets a $2Mil kicker if he’s traded as well.
Free agents in 2025 include Teoscar Hernandez, Jack Flaherty, Kevin Kiermeier, Blake Treinen, Walker Buehler, Joe Kelly, Kike Hernandez, Daniel Hudson. Keirmeier has already said he’s retiring.
I suspect Kike is gone – he’s the same guy as Taylor and at this point, Edman is probably better. I wonder if Hudson or Treinen will retire. Hudson is 37 1/2 and Treinen is 36 and both have had lots of injuries. Joe Kelly is also 36 and he just needs to be gone. I suspect Buehler is also gone.
I wonder if they will try to resign Teo though.
Well, to be Captain Obvious, tonight is a huge start for Bobby Miller for 2 very important reasons. One, getting swept at home by the Cubs, before heading to Atlanta, is a big deal. And for Bobby himself, he really needs to start turning his season around. This could be his Swan song, and should be if he sucks again.
He has suffered from the same problem that plaques Walker Buehler, but more so.
He can’t command the strike zone. Something else in his arsenal needs to work to make his change up effective. He has to reduce the amount of homers that he gives up, with is almost 3 homers per 9 innings and reduce his walks, 4.5 walks per 9. Walks and homers are a bad combo not to mention opponents hitting .292 / .937 against him.
Color me crazy for not being optimistic on this one.
I’ve been a proponent of keeping Andy Pages around to pinch hit vs LHP. With Teo out, Pages has been in the outfield more than I’d like. But my enthusiasm is waning, as he hasn’t hit much the last 2 weeks and he makes a lot of mistakes. I know he’s a rookie but he’s been around baseball long enough to not make stupid mistakes as often as he does. He’s just not a smart, savvy player.
I hope Teoscar is back in the line up.
On a brighter note, I have really enjoyed the Cubs broadcasts of the last 2 games. Boog Sciambi rubs some the wrong way, but I enjoy him. He’s partnered with Ryan Dempster, who has the refreshing style of not talking constantly. Together, they are a very pleasant and entertaining team. They are respectful and knowledgeable about the Dodgers and are not flagrant homers.
I haven’t watched the Dodger’s broadcast in a while now. As long as Jess Mendoza is on the mic, I’m out.
Teo back in the lineup hitting 4th. Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, Teo, Edman, Smith, Muncy, Rojas, Taylor, Miller P. He had better pitch his rear end off tonight.
Oh brother.
Once again, it ain’t Miller time.
Remember the fallen, never forget 9-11-2001. RIP
Manny Gonzalez, the home plate umpire is awful.
Hey, they scored a run in a late inning. Whoopee. Nice AB Luxie. Shohei needs to quit swinging for the fences. This is basically a must win game.
Freeman, Betts and Teo, 2-13 combined, but how about Edman, second 2 homer game in a row.
