OKC Comets 4 – El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego) 3
OKC took a pair from the San Diego AAA affiliate.
In Game One of the DH, Ryan Ward hit an inside the park HR for the walkoff win.
Landon Knack started and his pitching line was not all that impressive, but it was not all of his doing. In the 3rd, Tim Locastro led off with a single, stole 2nd, and scored on another single.
OKC took the lead in the bottom of the 3rd. With one out, Alex Freeland drew a walk. Then with 2 outs, consecutive singles by Kody Hoese, James Outman, and Hyeseong Kim plated two.
El Paso took back the lead in the 5th. With one out, Knack allowed a single and a BB before being relieved by Jack Little. Little walked the first batter to load the bases, and then allowed a double to score two. Both of Little’s inherited runners scored.
Noah Davis and Logan Boyer each pitched a scoreless inning.
In the 6th, Outman led off with a single, and stole 2nd. After two outs, Dalton Rushing hit a PH double to score Outman with the tying run.
In the 7th, Ward hit that 2-out inside-the-park HR and the walkoff win.

OKC Comets 12 – El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego) 5
Bobby Miller is digging a deeper hole. In 4.0 IP he surrendered 4 runs on 3 hits with 6 BB and just one strikeout. In the first inning, he issued a one out BB, a SB, a WP, and a single brought in the first run. In the 4th, Miller walked the bases loaded, and then allowed a bases clearing double. Thus 4 of his 6 walks came home to score.
Down 1-0 in the first, the Comets scored 4 runs without a hit. The first four batters reached via BB or HBP to score one run. A balk scored another, and then back to back sacrifice flies by James Outman and Hunter Feduccia scored two others.
In the 2nd, the Comets scored two on a BB, and an Alex Freeland HR.

After 4 ½ innings, OKC had a 7-4 lead going into the bottom of the 5th. In the 5th, Ryan Ward led off with a BB, and James Outman singled. - Kody Hoese – 1-1, 3 BB, 2 runs, double (2)
- Austin Gauthier – 1-2, 1 BB, 2 runs, 2 RBI, double (4)
- Dalton Rushing – 1-3, 1 BB, 1 run, double (4)
- Esteury Ruiz – 1-3, 1 BB, 1 run, 2 RBI
Tulsa Drillers 6 – Arkansas Travelers (Seattle) 5
Jared Karros started and he seemed to get back on track in this one. At least he was able to get out of most of the traffic. In the 1st inning, 2 singles, a BB, and a balk gave the Travelers a 1-0 lead.
That lead lasted until the bottom of the 5th when the Drillers put up 6. Taylor Young led off with a HBP, Young was moved to 2nd on a sac bunt. Sean McLain drew a BB and Chris Newell singled to load the bases. In his LAD affiliate debut, Nick Senzel doubled home 2. José Ramos walked to load the bases. There was a run scoring ground out, followed by a Damon Keith 3-run HR, and a 6-1 lead.
Karros was still on the mound to start the 6th, and allowed a HR before Lucas Wepf relieved him. 2 runs scored off Wepf on a single, double, ground out, and balk.
With a 6-4 lead going into the 7th, Antonio Knowles relieved Wepf and gave up a solo HR. Tulsa held on for the 7-6 win.
Nick Senzel played 3B in this game.
- Damon Keith – 2-3, 1 run, 3 RBI, HR (3)
- Ezequiel Pagan – 2-3, triple (3)
- Nick Senzel – 1-4, 1 run, 2 RBI, double (1)
Arkansas Travelers (Seattle) 7 – Tulsa Drillers 2
Tulsa drew 1st blood on a Damon Keith infield single and throwing error put Keith on 2nd. John Rhodes doubled home Keith, and Rhodes scored on a Chris Newell single.
Jerming Rosario started and in the 3rd, he issued a pair of walks to open the inning. Two groundouts gave the Travelers their run.
Ronan Kopp entered in the 6th trying to preserve a 2-1 lead. Instead of preserving the lead, Kopp had his 3rd blown save in 4 save opportunities. In the 1.0 inning, Kopp gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. The two runs scored on 2 singles, a WP, and a 3rd single scoring 2. Thus far in 2025, Kopp has pitched 7.2 innings, Kopp has allowed 6 runs (5 earned), 11 hits, 9 BB, and 13 K.
Brandon Neeck entered in the 7th and allowed 4 runs in the 7th to open the game up. A single, a balk, an IBB, and single scored one, and a 3 run HR finished the scoring.
- Damon Keith – 2-4, 1 run
- John Rhodes – 2-3, 1 run, 1 RBI, double (6)
Great Lakes Loons and Quad Cities River Bandits (KC) Game Postponed
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 14 – Stockton Ports (A’s) 2
Christian Zazueta allowed a leadoff HR for the only run he allowed in 4.1 IP.
RC scored a tying run in the 3rd on three singles. Samuel Munoz drove Eduardo Quintero home for a 1-1 tie.
RC scored 7 in the 5th for an 8-1 lead. Gio Cueto reached on an error. A BB and HBP loaded the bases. Mike Sirota walked to force in the go ahead run. Samuel Munoz doubled home a pair, and Jaron Elkins slugged a 3-run HR. The 7th run scored with a Nicolas Perez single. He moved to 2nd on a WP, and to 3rd on another error. He scored on a Eduardo Guerrero single.

- Gio Cueto – 2-5, 2 runs
- Eduardo Guerrero – 1-3, 2 BB, 2 runs, 1 RBI

Surprised to see that Senzel started in Tulsa. Figured a veteran like him would be at OKC. Also surprised by Ward’s speed.
Nice to see that Freeland and Outman keep producing. Hope to see them with the big club some point soonish.
Only Freeland from that group is in our future plans. I’m convinced Outman is strictly insurance in case of injury to a starting OF.
If Conforto keeps struggling, we might see one of those phantom injuries and Outman up. Only way Freeland gets the call is if someone gets hurt.
Freeland with pretty easy looking power.
I’m starting to think he could be a long-term option at 3B. Notions of how much power a guy needs at 3B vs. SS are becoming a bit outdated.
He should start next season on our opening day roster, either as our starting SS [with Betts moving to 2B], 3B [with Muncy let go or riding the bench] or 2B [with Edman returning to CF].
At worst he should inherit the Miguel Rojas role next year, or if Kim takes that, the Chris Taylor role. As far as I’m concerned, Keekay is a Dodger for life, like Kershaw.
Headed to Atlanta to see the Boys in Blue!
Have a great time, and bring the blue brushes for the sweep.
Have fun storming the castle!
Don’t get tomahawk chopped.
Walker Buehler was scratched from his scheduled start for today due to some “discomfort” in his shoulder. Buehler underwent testing in Boston yesterday. The results have not yet been made clear, but manager Alex Cora told reporters that team trainers believe the issue isn’t “too alarming.”
Sounds like the Dodgers’ injury press releases…”Nothing to see here”.
And Mike Trout is back on the IL with a bone bruise.
Walker Buehler undergoing imaging for a sore shoulder. Jazz Chisholm placed on the IL and former Dodger prospect, Jorbit Vivas recalled; Mike Trout headed to the IL with a bruised toe. Giants put Tyler Fitzgerald on the 10-day IL. Royals released Nick Gordon. Giants lost to Colorado last night, first time all year that the Rockies have won 2 in a row. Giants dropped 1/2 game more behind the Dodgers, now 2 back. Dodgers back with the best record in baseball after Mets loss.
Jeff, this team is old and getting older. When do you think Friedman will have to change course and infuse this roster with young talent? It seems that he’s pretty much blocked his best MiLB players from getting a shot anytime soon.
Agree, and this is partly why I”m so happy Pages is showing signs of life. We need more young guys like him to join the party.
Next year, Rushing, Freeland, Kim & Feduccia might have clear paths to roster spots. In terms of pitching, any young pitcher who wants to come up and immediately impress will get a long look. It’s clear we prioritize depth over youth, and it’s only when a veteran flops [Conforto] that we find fault with the plan.
But yes, a gradual and dual progress of getting younger and more athletic is already happening. Hope & De Paula look to be future starters in the next 2-3 years.
Feduccia will be rule 5 eligible this winter. He is almost a lock to be taken by some other team if LA does not protect him on the roster.
Feduccia is already on the 40 man. He has 2 option years including this year. He can be optioned again in 2026. After 2026 he has to remain on the 26 man roster or be DFA. He is team controlled to 2031.
Taylor is trying to stay on the team to get his 10 years on an active roster to qualify for a full pension. I would imagine a partial pension plus his $60M+ earnings should allow him to scrape by. He rarely plays so wouldn’t be missed whereas I would guess his replacement, Outman, would play a lot in CF. That would put Conforto and his lefty bat on the bench which is all righty.
I would also bring up Freeland and create a spot for him by trading Rojas or releasing Kike’. That would hopefully put Muncy on the bench.
Muncy, Barnes, Kike, Kershaw, Conforto, Taylor, Rojas, all become free agents if no options are picked up. Plenty of room for the kids then. Rushing, Freeland most likely to get the call. Maybe a couple more. Kim could make the team next year as the utility guy. Mookie could move to second permanently if Freeland is ready to play SS. They could trade for a third baseman or sign one in free agency. I know they covet the Japanese guy, Murakami.
I know a number of you have subscriptions which enable you to watch some of the Dodger minor league games, but for those who don’t, SNLA will be carrying 13 of the OKC games with the first one starting tomorrow.
Times are Pacific.
If anyone’s desperate for fame, just sit behind home plate at any minor league game and you’re guaranteed to be on TV for 2-3 hours straight.
Conforto is the every day leftfielder. Conforto is 0 for 19 in the last week and 7 for 71 the last month. .145 vs RHP and .191 vs LHP, so there is no platoon option. He’s a regular that needs some time on the el-bencho, as I see it.
I know you can’t hit while sitting on the bench but a new role may suit him better for a while and give someone else a chance.
Pages may have made his career in the past 2 weeks as a Dodger.
While folks keep bellyaching about Rojas, he’s hitting .393 his last 12 games. He’s not the problem.
The slumbers continue to be Muncy, as we all hope he finds it.
Kike, who is such a favorite for some, yet he’d forges along at .188.
CT3 has 16 at bats all season, and has a role of replacing Conforto for defense in the 9th.
Even Barnes has started to hit a bit.
I would love to see Outman get a shot in Conforto’s spot.
And Rushing and Freeland and Ward………..but there is no room at the inn, for now.
Things will eventually play out. As Johnny Gentle points out, there will be plenty of new faces on the roster next year, if it doesn’t happen this year..
LA has 17 million reasons for leaving Conforto out there to figure it out. Not much chance that will change anytime soon, no matter how the fans might feel about it.
Rojas might have the most trade value among himself, Kike’ and Taylor. Baltimore has a good young team and could use a guy like Rojas. I would want a high floor player back even if another Dodgers player had to be copackaged.
Why do you think Baltimore would want Miguel Rojas. They have an abundance of middle infielders…Gunnar Henderson, Jordan Westburg, Jackson Holliday, Jorge Mateo, and Ramón Urías. Who was the last 36 year old infielder that Baltimore had on their roster.
You would have a better chance with the plethora of pitchers the Dodgers have.
Cal Ripken Jr. !!!!!
LOLZ!
Well, he probably was. He was still playing when he was 40.
I thought I was clear. They are young so could use a guy like Rojas to help the youngsters maximize their physical tools. I also said another Dodger could be added.
Maybe you could have said Rojas plus pitcher(s) might get X. Otherwise, your reply was cold water. That’s dialog building.
I think what Jeff is saying is that in order for a trade to be made, both teams have to want what the other is offering. The oldest player on the Orioles is Charlie Morton. The oldest position player is Ryan O’Hearn. And Jeff is right, why would they want Rojas? He might be a great clubhouse presence, but his playing time would be very little. They have three MLB SS already. Miggy is better suited in LA. Now trade Baltimore some of the Dodgers pitching surplus, and you might get a nice piece back.
You were very clear. I understood exactly. But that does not change my point that Baltimore chooses not to have 36 year old infielders on their roster. Trading Miguel Rojas to Baltimore has as much chance of happening as did Bobby Witt Jr. being traded to the Dodgers.
Agreed
A couple of things, first, although fans see little value in Chris Taylor, the Dodgers see something otherwise Chris would be history. His contract is really not the problem anymore. He is Conforto’s defensive caddy and plays maybe once a week as a starter. Second, Conforto is getting 17 million dollars to play for the Dodgers. He has had 90 at bats. I have to believe he has a very long leash at that price. 150-200 before LA even considers a move. The bench is thin and all right-handed, but they are not going to put Conforto on the bench just to fix that. Barnes is hitting better, so forget them bringing up Rushing or Feduccia unless Smith or Barnes go down. All the youth fans seek, will start coming to the bigs most likely next year. One position player will be called up come September. But any real upgrades to this roster, will come at the deadline.
Rangers DFAd Nick Ahmed and sent Jake Burger to AAA. They called up 2 players. Guardians DFAd Vince Velasquez. Mariners outrighted Lao to AAA. He went unclaimed on waivers. Reds activated Tyler Stephenson and placed Hays on the 10-day IL. Mets promoted Blade Tidwell. Giants signed OF Daniel Johnson to a minor league deal.
Starting lineup posted, Edman will not start, his ankle is still barking a little. Otherwise, lineup is pretty much the same 1-5. Muncy, Pages, Conforto and the Rojas at second.
Hope it settles down quickly. He’s an important piece for us. Next man up. Rojas has been hot.
Roberts said he will most likely be back in the lineup tomorrow.
One hitter for Yamamoto and he didn’t even have his best stuff. He was behind in the count all night
How’s that rain?
In our poncho’s under the stadium! The beer is keeping us dry!
Military ponchos were bulky and heavy. Made you sweat so you were almost as wet as if you were walking around in the rain.
James Outman has 2 HR so far today. Dude is on fire.
Phillips is back! Nice close out! No rain tomorrow! Please
Sure wish they would bring him up to play CF. Can’t be worse than Conforto and much better defense.
But Conforto has a $17M runway.
And 6 driven in. OKC wins 10-0
Good win. If Conforto’s our worst player I can live with that. Give him May. Pages looked lost too.
Everybody’s consecutive game hitting streaks came to an end except for Mookie, now at 5. Day offs, who needs them?
Outman hit 2 homers in tonight’s game and drove in 6 runs.
Earning a look?
I think he should get at least one more shot. If he can’t cut it, trade him.
Fried solid tonight.
I wish LA had signed him rather than Sasaki or Snell. Jansen really blew one for the Angels, he gave up 6 runs and 3 homers in the top of the 9th inning, the Angels lost the game, 9-1. Jansen’s ERA is now over 6. I would not complain about the homers Yates has allowed.
You’ve got to be kidding me! Sasaki is basically free for five years! No comparison to Fried! And what was the date that you stated that during the off season about Fried and Snell?
Saw a little story that Rushing might be deadline trade bait. Dodgers more inclined to keep DePaula and Hope.
Saw that. IMO, it is just another click bait mock trade.
