This was a very forgettable day for the Dodger MiLB Affiliates.

 

OKC Dodgers 1 vs Salt Lake City Bees (LAA) 12

This was a forgettable game.  Robbie Erlin and Justin Bruihl got jumped on early and often.  In 5.2 IP, combined they allowed 12 runs (9 earned) on 10 hits and 3 walks.  Jose Adames, Pedro Baez, and Jake Reed restored order, but it was too late.

Michael Busch had 2 hits and the sole RBI.  The other noteworthy event was that Drew Avans walked which extended his consecutive games for reaching base to 44.

Tulsa Drillers 1 vs NW Arkansas (KC) 8

John Rooney started but could only complete 3.1 innings.  As he exited, he left two inherited runners for the just promoted RHRP Adolfo RamirezRamirez allowed both runners to score.  For the day, Rooney’s line was 3.1 IP, 8 runs (7 earned), 9 hits, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts.

After allowing the 2 run single, Ramirez settled in and pitched 3.2 innings.  He only allowed 1 additional hit, but did walk 4 batters.  He also recorded 3 strikeouts.

Jose Hernandez pitched a perfect 9th inning, with two strikeouts.

Justin Yurchak (14), Ryan Ward (13), and Buddy Reed (2) all had double.  Ward also had a single to go 2-4, and had the sole RBI.

Great Lakes Loons 8 vs Lake County Captains (Cleveland) 11

On the Mound

Ben Harris was the opener for the Loons, and struck out the side in the 1st on 13 pitches.  He continues to shine in a short term relief role.  In his last 10 games, 12.1 IP, Harris has allowed 0 runs, 1 hit, 2 HBP, 4 BB, 23 K.  That is fairly dominant.

From there, it went south.  Kendal Williams allowed a solo HR in the 2nd, a single and triple in the 4th, and a 3-run HR in the 5th.

Braydon Fisher came in to relieve in the 6th and issued a BB, two singles and a 3-run HR.  After a scoreless 7th Antonio Knowles surrendered a 2-run HR in the 8thCole Duensing walked 2 in the 9th but got out of the inning without any runs.

 

At the Plate

The Loons scored two unearned runs in the 4th on two errors and two run scoring singles.

In the 5th, Ismael Alcantara opened the inning with a double and moved to 3rd on a WP.  After a strikeout, a BB, and Jorbit Vivas reaching 1st on catcher’s interference and the bases were loaded.  José Ramos singled home two.  After another BB loaded the bases Imanol Vargas cleared the bases with a double (17).  It was a short lived lead as Williams and Fisher each gave up 3-run HRs in the 5th and 6th.

The Loons scored their 3rd unearned run in the 7th.

Imanol Vargas and José Ramos each had two hits with Vargas getting 4 RBI’s and Ramos 2.

Inland Empire 66ers (LAA) 10 vs Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 3

On the Mound

This was the 4th LAD affiliate sub-par pitching performance of the day.  Maddux Bruns started and was again pulled after 2.0 innings.  He has not pitched past the 2nd inning since May 21.  He is being limited by innings pitched and/or pitches thrown.  In 2.0 innings, Bruns threw 40 pitches, 23 strikes.

4 pitches followed and none could find success.  In their 7.0 IP, combined they allowed 10 runs (all earned), 11 hits and 7 walks.  They also recorded a combined 5 strikeouts.

 

At the Plate

The Quakes had a total of 6 hits, 2 by 2022 4th round draft pick OF Nick Biddison and 2.  These were his 2 first professional hits and one was his 1st double.   Yunior Garcia also had 2 hits.
