West Michigan White Caps (Detroit) 3 vs Great Lakes Loons 2
Nick Nastrini had a quality start. He allowed two runs on 3 hits, 1 walk, and registered 5 Ks before he was lifted after 84 pitches (58 strikes). He did allow a 2-out solo HR in the 6th before he got the final out.
Jeff Belge allowed a 2 out walk who scored on a double to give the Wind Surge a 3-0 lead.
The offense consisted of 3 doubles and 2 singles. Imanol Vargas’ double (10) scored a run that brought the Loons within 1 with one out in the 9th. Unfortunately 2 strikeouts followed to end the game.
Overall, Nick Nastrini continues to impress most of the time. Now he needs to be more consistent with his command. I know…easier said than done.
