Happy New Year 2023

LA Dodger Chronicles hopes everyone has a Happy and Safe New Year.  Let’s hope we Dodgers fans get a different outcome in their final game this year.  Oh what the heck, and that USC gets a Cotton Bowl victory.

Happy New Year Jeff. UCLA got beat by a point. I watched the Ohio State-Georgia game. Another one-point win. Let us hope the team is better than some think it will be.

Happy New Year folks.

I gave up on college football long ago, so I hope you all get your wishes on that. As far as the Dodgers are concerned, I’m ready for anything in 2023. I don’t want to be too greedy.

Hoping I can live by the following principle:
Happiness is not having what you wantit’s wanting what you have

I have arthritic joints and thinning hair.

Letters to the editor this morning about Bauer. Yep, we are a divided fan base on this issue. Note to Dodgers: can we please get this over with?

Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger. I have arthritic joints and no hair.

Can you believe Frankie Valli is 88? Where did all the years go?

“Where did all the years go?”

Look in the mirror. They’re all there.

I think in all probability there were three categories of baseballs used last year. For the sake of argument I am going to say that a third of the baseballs used last year did not carry as far as those used in past seasons and certainly not as far as the balls used in 2019 which have been said to have been juiced.

For those that are considered power hitters with a K rate less than 25% there should be an increase in home runs. Here is my guess for the Dodgers in 2023.

Lux 18
Betts 36
Freeman 26
Smith 25
Martinez 30
Muncy 16
Thompson 19
Outman 26
Vargas 18
Taylor 14

Let the tears roll for Muncy. 😂

If Outman hits 26, print the World Series tickets.

Those are all good guesses.

What am I guessing?

I’m guessing they’re all wrong.

Same here. Muncy will hit 20 plus, Lux maybe 10. Thompson if he cuts down the K’s can easily hit 20.

Did you see the first one? Knives Out? Both are great. We got some snow here in Canon City tonight, first of the new year.

But I like that one.

I love Castrovince. He knows he makes his living writing about a game and doesn’t take himself seriously.

USC’s defense sucks. And missing the catch on the kickoff to put them at their own one was huge. But up 15 with less than 5 minutes left? Unfrippenbelieveable.

Maybe someone should check on Jeff. That was a humiliating performance by SC.

No doubt a lot of you were watching the Buffalo game last night. My thoughts go out to Hamlin and his family. I don’t know how anyone who witnessed that cannot be affected by it. Not sure how the NFL will respond but we know the show must go on.

Almost 50 years to the day since the only player ever to die on the field during a game passed away. Jim Hughes.

Yesterday was all day football and it was, beginning to end, the worst football day I can remember.

I sure hope Hamlin recovers. And I do expect a ripple effect.

The Dodgers are bringing back Roger Owens, one of their all time best pitchers, for 2023 and were able to get him for peanuts so he won’t cause the Dodgers to exceed the CBT penalty threshold.

You are welcome.
