We are saddened to hear that HOF Vin Scully, the long time voice of the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers for 67 years, has passed away at the age of 94. He was the heart and soul of the beloved Dodgers organization, and will forever be missed. How many of us went to sleep each night with our transistor radios under our pillows. He will join his beloved wife Sandy in Heaven.
The Dodgers have issued the following on social media.

A couple of my favorite memories.
My heart is saddened tonight. RIP to the greatest Dodger of them all.

Thanks for sharing these classic moments. I always count Kirk Gibson’s home run as my first sports memory. I was six at the time and it’s the earliest memory I have of watching pro sports. I then grew up reenacting that moment over and over while repeating Vin’s great call, “In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened!” I’d usually say that to myself as I mimicked Kirk Gibson’s labored home run trot and famous fist pump while rounding my backyard lawn. I teared up a bit rewatching it this morning.
Thank you. Last night was hard for me to get thru. Vin was part of my life since 1959. But that Kirk Gibson HR will always be my highlight.
