OKC started their 2025 season on Friday. Their rosters were set before the game. Rosters are limited to 28 active players, with no limit restrictions to the number of pitchers vs position players. The roster going into Game 1 sits at 17 pitchers and 11 position players (including 3 catchers).
Oklahoma City roster
- Starting pitchers (5): Nick Frasso, Bobby Miller, Landon Knack, Justin Wrobleski, Carlos Duran
- Right-handed relievers (8): Matt Sauer, Noah Davis, Logan Boyer, Sam Carlson, Julian Fernández, Justin Jarvis, Jack Little, Ryan Sublette
- Left-handed relievers (4): Alec Gamboa, Ben Harris, Jose Hernandez, Joe Jacques
- Catchers (3): Dalton Rushing, Hunter Feduccia, Chris Okey
- Infielders (5): Hyeseong Kim, Michael Chavis, Alex Freeland, Austin Gauthier, Kody Hoese
- Outfielders (4): James Outman, Eddie Rosario, Ryan Ward
Players underlined and bold are all on the 40-man (9).
Will they add another position player? I am not sure who that player would be if he were to come out of the LAD organization.
Now for the game. For 8 ½ innings OKC looked good. Nick Frasso started but lasted just 2.0 innings before giving way to 25 year old RHP Justin Jarvis. In his two innings, Frasso gave up 2 hits to two of the first three batters he faced. He got a foul pop out to Feduccia and a K to end the inning.
Frasso faced the minimum in the second thanks to a 6-4-3 DP. In his 2.0 IP, Frasso threw 36 pitches (22 K).
Jarvis pitched 4.2 scoreless and hitless innings, but surrendered 5 walks to go with his 5 Ks. Jarvis reached 75 pitches and was done for the evening. Jack Little got the third out in the 7th and retired the side in order in the 8th with 1 K.
Meanwhile OKC hit three solo HRs for a 3-0 lead. With a one out single in the 2nd inning, Michael Chavis got the first Comet hit of 2025. Dalton Rushing got the 1st HR of the year, with Chavis and Hunter Feduccia also going deep.
With a 3-0 lead, OKC sent out Joe Jacques out for the 9th and a save opportunity. With 1 out in the 9th, Quincy Hamilton drew a BB. Jacques had a throwing error on a pickoff attempt, but did get a K for the 2nd out. That would be the last out that OKC would get. Cesar Salazar hit a run scoring single. That was followed by a Zack Short 2-run game tying HR.
Jacques gave way to Logan Boyer. Boyer gave up a double on a 1-2 pitch, BB, and game winning walk off single by Bryce Matthews.
- Dalton Rushing 2-4 with a HR (1).
- Michael Chavis 2-4 with a HR (1).
- Hunter Feduccia 1-3 with a HR (1).
For those of us James Outman followers, he had a forgettable night. He went 0-4 with 2 Ks including one with the bases full. Hyeseong Kim went 0-4 with a K and a ground ball 6-3 DP.
The only position players not to play for OKC were Chris Okey and Austin Gauthier.
I have to revisit Gibby meet Freddie again.

Well I committed to the OKC post for today, but I did not see that Bear posted his 3-Dog post.
Oh well this is not the only blog that has more than one post a day.
My bad Jeff. Our posters are cool though, they can post on both. I watched the first few innings of OKC’s game.
Edman had one hell of a game tonight.
I would keep him at 2b permanently. A wizard at that position. If Pages does not cut it in CF trade for one at the deadline if necessary.
Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And whom might they trade for? Just asking, I know you are going to say Robert Jr.
You know me pretty well, Bear!😉
You are if nothing else, repetitive.
Agree about 2b
I was thinking the same thing about Edman at 2B…
But I also still think that at some point Betts would be moved to 2B as he gets older.
But if losing 20 pounds doesn’t ruin his HR stroke, maybe he can play SS for a few years.
16 strikeouts by the Dodgers staff tonight. Scott blew his first chance at a save.
Not a good night for our bullpens.
I see Kim was also 0 for 4 with a K. Sure hope the organization isn’t wrong about him.
I noticed something about Yamamoto’s fastball. It appears to be without movement. Correct me if I’m wrong. And Flaherty looked great right up until he didn’t. He still ended with 2 earned, under 1 WHIP in 5.2. Against this lineup that’s a good night. He out pitched Yamamoto but not by much.
The team was 8 for 35 with 10 Ks. But 8 runs. Damm. The new Dodger way to play baseball. It’s impressive.
Kim needs a “torpedo bat”!
The Mookster is back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good to see.
Scott did not have a good ST and so far has looked shaky in the regular season as well. Not a good start but as they say: It does not matter how you start, its how you finish.
Will not get nervous about him before May/June.
Garcia should be the first P to go down when Phillipps or Kopech are ready to return. Maybe even sooner.
Go Dodgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In case anyone us interested, here’s a very derailed description of the Dodgers WS ring

I added a revision to my best defensive players post. I totally blew it by leaving Andre Ethier off of the list of best right fielders the Dodgers have had. I am surprised none of you guys called me out on that. Ethier is the longest tenured RF in LA Dodger history. He was with LA for 12 years, his last two were injury prone and he only played 38 games over those two years. He had 67 outfield assists and earned a Gold Glove in 2011.
Good news for Dodger fans, both Evan Phillips and the Cat Man throwing simulated games today. Shohei is also throwing a bullpen today.
My only worry with bullpen is we overpitch the back-end guys. Vesia & Scott both get tonight off. Eventually someone like Casparius has to go multiple innings. Maybe that can be Gonsolin.
I agree with that. Gonsolin can do that easily. A lot of different outlets have called for the Dodgers to trade Gonsolin to someone like the Yankees who need starters badly.
The guy with no real role is Miller. Best case scenario might be for him to get back looking good then be a prime trade chop rather than one of our top five prospects.
Frasso I like as a reliever eventually. Knack is depth. Wrobleski is a 2025/2026 SP.
Such a fun system to root for.
Also agree with that take
I think the “one-and-done” approach for RPs is overused.
Today Dreyer needed only 15 pitches to record four outs.
Then Casparius threw 11 pitches and Banda threw 10 to get the next six outs.
None of these guys were close to being overworked. Each could have thrown another inning.
As it was, Roberts had Luis Garcia throw two innings–even though he had pitched in the previous game.
Not a big deal, but I think that pitch count matters more than the number of outs recorded.
(My son once recorded three outs on three pitches in a practice game. Efficient!)
Carlos Duran gets the start tonight for OKC. Rushing was the DH last night, wonder if he is behind the plate tonight.
Mookie hit 139 homers as a Red Sox player. He has 134 as a Dodger in just four full seasons and 57 games.
Random thought: Ohtani is the most talented player on the team, Freeman is the best hitter, but Betts might be the most popular and best all-around player.
I was just thinking yesterday that if they had a poll on the most popular player, it would be very hard to predict who would win.
Not the “best” player but the “most popular”. Mookie, Freddie and Shohei would all get lots of votes and Kike might get more than expected. Maybe the question should be worded “which player would you most like to spend an evening with”. Due to the language barrier, I guess Sho would be at a disadvantage on that one.
Prolly Keekay lol
Yates looks like he could pound some beers
For those of you who like Dodger trivia, Eric Stephen at True Blue LA is doing a daily quiz in which he gives 5 clues and you have to guess the Dodger player. You get one guess after each clue.
He also links to past days so you can catch up.

That site is way too woke for me. That one moderator is up her own ass.
Former Dodger prospect, Eddys Leonard, was released by the Tigers and almost immediately thereafter, signed to a minor league deal by the Atlanta Braves.
David Bote has yet to sign with any other team (that I can find). I do not know how long the window stays open for those exercising their upward mobility clause, but Bote has been placed on the OKC restricted list. I still do not understand why the Dodgers signed 28 year old RHP Noah Davis (also upward mobility clause signee) and not David Bote. Davis is just another in a long line of RHP in the LAD organization. OKC needs position players, and Bote would be a better insurance option than Davis. Bote has an option even though with 5 days of MLB service time he will reach 5 years and can then refuse to be optioned.
Davis was addded to the 40 man and then optioned to OKC. This will be his 4th option year. Players typically have three option years, but those who have accrued less than five full seasons (including both the Major and Minors) are eligible for a fourth if their three options have been exhausted already.
I agree with you. I see Bote as insurance for Taylor/Keekay/Rojas. Freeland & Kim aren’t ready yet.
Davis was purchased from the Red Sox; he was not signed.
Rest In Peace Nancy Bea 🙏🙏
Hellen Dell was still the organist when I sang the anthem.
Hope Gonsolin’s bullpen went well today. Sasaki doesn’t look ready for the big leagues just yet.
He clearly has the stuff but he needs to throw more strikes and trust his stuff. Might need some MiLB time. 60+ pitches in 1.2 IP with four BBs ain’t going to get it done
That
That was UGLY!
How did Anthony Banda become an elite reliever? Wow! Wasn’t it just a few years ago that the complaint was that AF couldn’t put a good bullpen together?
Nice win for OKC tonight. Kim had a couple of hits. Rosario went 3-4. Sasaki did not look good. He was all over the place.
Yes, Kim with a big game. Double, triple & two walks.
Nice win. Dodgers opened a can on them. Off day tomorrow couldn’t have come at a better time for the bullpen.
Perhaps Sasaki felt more nervous in LA than he did in Tokyo.
He needed 61 pitches to get five outs.
Then Dreyer, Casparius and Banda combined to throw 36 pitches in recording 10 outs.
Not worried about Sasaki. Reminds me a bit of Yamamoto’s debut in Seoul last season.
Five down, 157 to go…
So some of the Yankees are using a newfangled “torpedo bat” designed by an MIT physicist on the team’s payroll. Perfectly legal, according to MLB. I assume the Dodgers will order some soon.
