On the Mound
The Dodgers were down 9-0 after 4. All of the runs coming against a couple of journeymen organizational depth pitchers, Sam Gaviglio and Jon Duplantier. Daniel Zamora and Justin Hagenman settled the Aces down for the next 3.1 innings. Carson Fulmer is putting a lot of pressure on the Carson Fulmer watch with another tough outing. In 1.0 inning, he allowed 2 hits and 3 walks for 1 run. Marshall Kasowski finished up with an uneventful 0.1 IP.

The Dodgers scored a pair of runs in the 4th, 8th, and 9th, but were never in the game. In the 4th, Eddy Alvarez singled, Ryan Noda walked, and Jason Martin singled to load the bases for Tony Wolters. Wolters singled to score 2.

2022 started out so well for LHP John Rooney. Then the calendar turned to May. He has now had four consecutive poor outings. For May, Rooney’s ERA is an unseemly 8.62. In tonight’s game, Rooney lasted 3.0 innings before he surrendered 7 runs (5 earned), with 5 hits and 5 BBs. 3 of the 4 relievers who followed were not effective allowing 4 runs on 7 hits and 4 BBs. Only Jordan Leasure had a positive outing. He pitched a scoreless 6th with 3 Ks.
At the Plate
The Drillers had 11 hits and 7 BBs, but could only muster 4 runs. They scored 1 run in 4 separate innings. In the 1st, James Outman doubled and scored on singles by Ryan Ward and Hunter Feduccia.
In the 2nd, Devin Mann hit his 6th HR of the season.
In the 6th, Andy Pages tripled and scored on a Devin Mann sac fly.
Finally in the 9th, Carson Taylor hit a ground rule double. After Andy Pages was HBP, and Devin Mann walked to load the bases. Brandon Lewis singled to plate Carson Taylor.
Brandon Lewis had 2 hits and Justin Yurchak had 3 hits.

For the third game, the starter and a pair of relievers were torched.. Emmett Sheehan, Cole Percival, and Antonio Knowles gave up 7 runs on 9 hits and 6 BBs. This was Sheehan’s second consecutive poor start after three outstanding starts. Percival continued with his up and down season. For Antonio Knowles, this was his second consecutive outing allowing a pair of runs, after 12 consecutive games where he did not allow an earned run (3 unearned).
Julian Smith and Adam Scoggins finished the final 2.1 innings without damage.
At the Plate
Great lakes jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the 1st inning with a Jorbit Vivas single and José Ramos HR (2).
In the 5th, Jonny DeLuca hit his team leading 13th HR of the season.
The Loons got close in the 9th. With 2 outs, Eddys Leonard singled and moved to 2nd on a WP. He scored on a Jorbit Vivas double. With three straight free passes, the 5th run scored, and the bases remained loaded. However Edwin Mateo grounded out to end the threat and game.

Jorbit Vivas. He was the only Loon with two hits, including his 8th double. He had scored 2 runs and 1 RBI.

The Quakes were the lone LAD affiliate to be victorious on Sunday.
On the Mound
The first four Quakes pitchers pitched 8.0 scoreless innings. River Ryan started and went 2.0 IP he allowed 1 hit, 2 BBs, to go with his 4 Ks.
Jerming Rosario followed Ryan with 4.0 scoreless and hitless innings. His one negative was 4 BBs. He also had 5 Ks.
Ben Harris relieved Rosario and issue 2 walks, but struck out 3 Visalia hitters.
Joan Valdez followed Harris with a scoreless inning of his own, even though he allowed 2 hits and 1 walk.
Madison Jeffrey allowed a pair of doubles to break the shutout.
At the Plate
RC scored a pair in the second. Julio Carrion singled and moved to 3rd on a Luis Rodriguez double. Carrion scored on a balk, and Jake Vogel singled to score the second run of the inning.
In the 4th, Yunior Garcia hit his 3rd HR of the season.
In the 5th, the Quakes broke the game open. With one out, Diego Cartaya drew a walk and moved to 3rd on a double by Alex De Jesus. Julio Carrion walked to load the bases. Yunior Garcia singled to score two runs followed by a 2-run scoring double.
Yunior Garcia went 3-3 with a walk. Julio Carrion was the only other Quake with a multi-hit game with 2.
