OKC Dodgers 10 – Tacoma Rainiers (Seattle) 9
It is the third game of the season, and OKC already has two walk-off wins. And both walk off hits were by 2B Jahmai Jones.
Robbie Erlin started for OKC and was roughed up for 7 runs in 4.0 IP. The 7 runs were courtesy of three 2-run HRs, and a solo shot.
OKC countered with a pair of solo HRs from Drew Avans and Michael Reed. After 4 innings, OKC was on the losing end of a 7-2 score.
Kolarek pitched a 1-2-3 5th inning. Tyler Cyr made his way to the mound in the 6th and his struggles continued. He allowed a lead off single, and got a force out. Cyr made an errant pick off throw for an error. A single and an out at home for the 2nd out. Cyr continued with a HBP and walk and was relieved by Victor González, who got the final out.
In the bottom of the 6th, back to back singles by Ryan Ward and Hunter Feduccia and OKC had runners on the corners. With one out, Justin Yurchak had a run scoring infield single. Yonny Hernández followed that with a -run double to get OKC back to within 2 runs.
VGon went back to the bump in the 7th. Delino DeShields got a 2-out BB , a SB, and scored on a single.
Jake Reed relieved VGon and the first batter, Mason McCoy, was HBP . He stole 2B. Nick Solak drew a BB, and on an attempted double steal, Feduccia threw out Solak at 2B. McCoy scored on a double, and the Rainiers were back out to a 4-run lead.
In the bottom of the 8th, Jahmai Jones singled, and that was followed by a pair of walks to Justin Yurchak and Yonny Hernández to load the bases. Michael Reed doubled home a pair. After a Drew Avans flyout, Michael Busch got a game tying 2-run single.
Brayan Hudson entered the 9th and walked a tightrope to get out of the inning without allowing a run. With one out, DeShields bunted for a single and was balked to 2nd. Jose Caballeros drew a walk. De Shields moved up to 3rd on a fly out. Caballeros stole 2B, and Hudson intentionally walked Mason McCoy to load the bases. Hudson struck out Nick Solak to end the threat, and set the stage for some more OKC magic.
In the bottom of the 9th, with one out and on a 1-0 pitch, Jahmai Jones hit a game winning walk off HR, and an OKC 10-9 win.
